Yeah, but this is an actual Deadpool movie, they don't need to simplify his origin when he's the main character, so I can't say I buy your reasoning in the slightest, those examples were supporting characters, so simplifying makes sense, but for the life of me I can't see how you figure they'd want to simplify the main character, especially when his story is interesting and very much worth telling and not especially complicated to begin with.

Thought it should get its own thread. So it's happening. I'm normally not too fussed at initial announcements at Marvel movies anymore but this one made me really giddy!

One thing to note is that the director Tim Miller has only directed short films as well as did the visual effects of Scott Pilgrim and The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo's opening titles so could it be a CGI Deadpool like the leak?

Your forgetting the time travel of DOFP effectly rebooted the X_Men films.
Only FC,the 1973 parts of DOFP+new future & post credit scene In ancient
Egypt are cannon now.Nothing that happened In Origins Is relvent except possibly the 1845-WW II parts of MOntage.

I didn't forget it, that's just another reason why they don't need to acknowledge it. DOFP fixed so many things that they'd effed up, now they just need to not screw up again.

I could see it being PG-13 by the skin of its teeth, but I'd much prefer it be R.

I think it could work if they blatantly lampshade it. Like have Deadpool address the audience directly and complain that the movie can only be PG-13. Although PG-13 lets you get away with quite a bit these days.

I prefer this film to be PG-13, I think it would be more successful with that rating and kids would get to see the film. Then for the cut-R-18 stuff, well they could save that for an extended cut.

Yeah, he is. The other villains in the film are Wyre and Garrison Kane if I remember right. Ajax is heavily associated with Deadpools Origin and they have him being similar to the comics only with an extended role later. I'll leave in spoiler just in case.

After Wade gets cancer and is rejected from the Weapon X program (not in the script) he is sent to a place called the Workshop for rejected experiments ran by Killbrew and Ajax. Ajax is pretty much the main one responsible for torutring Wade and killing him at points through messed up experiments. Since Wade can heal they just keep coming up with new ways to torture and experiment on him.

In the comics he later gets decked out with Cybernetic armor. Don't know if that will happen here.

As for the other Deadpool villains that have not been done yet for Fox.... theres Black Tom Cassidy, Butler, T-Ray and Slayback. Alot of other ones but those are the ones off the top of my head. I'd imagine Cable and Domino would show up at some point in a sequel fighting Wade at first since all three of them are fairly connected relationship wise and came out at the same time. Easy way to set up X-Force.

Yeah, and I think marketing will play heavily into it's success. Deadpool has to have a fun vibe much like Guardians. They can get really creative and fresh with the trailers here.

Also being the first Marvel film of 2016 will help. Won't be any Comic flicks past F4 in august 2015 so there is alot of time in between. Just having that Marvel Logo means alot. Hopefully they start marketing the film with a teaser around Ant Man to start building hype and interest.

It wouldn't surprise me, but it also wouldn't surprise me if it didn't happen. Given that they've been working on an X-Force movie, I could potentially see them using this movie to set that one up.
