Deadpool Movie Officially Announced!

Marvel: What? Fox is making a Deadpool movie? Fine, I guess that means we have to kill him off.

How are people saying they are "out" already? The leak was PG-13. At least give it a trailer!

Deadpool supposedly to be PG-13

I hate to be negative but I just can't get excited over this film. If Marvel was handling it then yes but FOX???? Dear god I hope they don't try and crossover Wolverine for a cameo or something.
You should get stoked. The Script is by people who actually give a **** about Deapdool. And if Wolverine made a Cameo (he doesn't as of now)) it would make sense. They always fight and are directly connected.

The Deadpool script is actually written for and by Deadpool fans.

...and about the rating rating.
Rhett Reese @RhettReese · 11h Hey, guys, no one knows yet whether Dpool will be R or PG-13. There may not be an announcement for a long while. Hang in!

the test footage was 100% R rated.

How? No blood. One F bomb. A beheading that cuts away. That PG-13 especially in this day when films are further stretching the PG-13 boundaries.

Yeah, there was nothing in there that you don't see in PG-13 films all the time. I think people are REALLY underestimating how much studios can get away with in PG-13 films. They can get away with A LOT, even though I'd prefer R, I know just how much they can do in PG-13 so I'd be fine with it.

Heck Wolverine was impaled and stabbed Shingen in the throat in a PG-13 movie

I'm not gonna insult you because I have more class. I don't care who writes it because unless it's James Cameron in the directors chair you can be sure that Fox is gonna rip that script apart to adjust the film to what they think it should be and make outlandish changes to the characters for no reason that makes since like they've done in all the Xfilms.

Let Deadpool stand on his on two feet first and not have a Wolverine appearance. The goal here is to build a character and not focus on a popular character(even lightly) that FOX has centered their entire comic universe around. This is the exact reason FOX can't do other Xmen spin off films like Cyclops for example because they never developed the character at all. Look at Marvel and take Thor, Iron Man and Captain America who all were developed by Marvel and succeeded at the box office. Cyclops is no different from any of them, he was before Marvel's development more known and popular then any of the characters I just mentioned before Iron Man 1 came out. Cap and IM are slightly more known to the general audience but THOR! Before Thor came out more people outside of comics could tell you who Cyclops is then Thor. You can't tell me why a developed Cyclops stand alone film can't pull in the same amount of money as a Thor film. What about a an Xforce or Xfactor film being a success like GOTG. The point is that FOX has centered everything around Wolverine that no other mutant superheroes are even relevant now. Their is not one Xmen character that you can do a solo movie off of that people will care to go see.

There's absolutely NO reason why you cannot due both. A cameo by Wolverine would not be at all out of place since they have long-standing history. As long as they don't try to make him a huge part of the movie, which I doubt that they would anyway, him popping up briefly to have a conversation with Wade would be fine.

I'll be very interested to hear if Reynolds is coming back or if he's sworn off comic book adaptations after the RIPD debacle.

Did being Fox and not Marvel make DOFP, First Class, or X-2 less awesome? Did being Marvel make Thor 2 and Iron Man 2 not mediocre? No, it did not. So stop saying stupid ****.

You have crap taste. Thor 2 was fantastic.

No it wasn't. It wasn't terrible, but it was the most disappointing/underwhelming Marvel film to date imo (largely due to a bland story and LOTS of wasted potential).

Well this movie is kind of his baby. He's wanted to make it for years, and it's not like his career is on a high-note these days. So I'd be surprised if he didn't come back (heck it was him in the test footage).

And yet he's still not signed to make it.

Reynolds isn't attached yet.

Not too sure you do, Why the hell would you allude to insulting me in the first place? The test footage was good and so was the script. No reason to be worried that much.

As for Logan, I agree with your second paragraph for the most part but sorry dude. Deadpool is a part of Weapon X and is created through a modified version Wolevrine's healing factor. He shouldn't steal the show, but they can very well use the character for good reasons if the writers felt it worked. I would personally prefer to see only new characters introduced here.

I apologize I saw the word stoked and I took its meaning for something else. I just reread the post.

The test footage may have been good and I can't comment on the script because I have no idea about it and it's no guarantee that FOX is going to use it. I stand by my opinion on FOX. The script may be good based on what you said but that still doesn't mean that FOX isn't going to hack it to pieces and have it go through rewrites. Yes Wade is a part of Weapon X but I just care not to see Wolverine in the movie. I can accept him making a cameo or sorts in a sequel but for now build on Deadpool and let him stand on his own merit. Besides we already seen the connection between Wade and Logan in that soso Wolverine origins. No need to rehash the story again as FOX will probably alter something in the new movie about what we know of Wade that contradicts what was shown of him in Wolverine origins. Just like how Xavier's in X3 body was destroyed but he's back somehow in DOFP. I even heard he was in The Wolverine. Not sure if that's the case cause I didn't see the movie.

Oh I see, you just haven't been paying any attention whatsoever to X-men films as of late. Kinda renders your opinion on FOX atm invalid.

And to the bolded. We haven't heard ANYTHING yet saying that they will alter the script should they use it, so you're just going out of your way to make yourself miserable, not the smartest way to go about life.

All good, and I completely agree with the bold.

Reynolds isn't attached yet.

Is that due to Reynolds or others? Or is it just too early in the process to start casting. Reynolds spoke out positively about the film hours before it was announced as happening.

He does have a bad track record with CBMs. However most are still wanting him for the role and he nailed it in the test footage.

You have crap taste.

All of those movies are 87% or above. The majority loved them.

And yet he's still not signed to make it.

Reynolds isn't attached yet.

Hope it all become official with him in the role.

I find it strange how some still view Fox as the company they were a decade ago. They haven't made a bad Marvel movie in five years, is that worth nothing?

They should be judge on the recent present as a barometer, not the past.
