Deadpool Deadpool's new continuity

Deadpool's basically modern day, hence the modern social media references.

Why are people questioning continuity in a deadpool movie

Why are people questioning continuity in a deadpool movie

Or in a Fox-related X-Men movie.

Like John Campea says; Deep in the basement at Fox Studios there's a big sign that says "Continuity, Schmontinuity".

Personally I see this as its own thing. I don't see any link to the xmen canon/storyline or timeline.

Sure they used xmen characters but it's to add to the plot. I think it should just be its own identity

Why aren't they? We wouldn't be having this conversation if First Class hadn't contradicted the original trilogy or Origins: Wolverine. Even when Days of Future Past changed the timeline, the continuity is still screwed up by messing up some of the characters' ages, skin color, etc. such as:

-William Stryker (in Vietnam): older in Origins, younger in DOFP.
-Bolivar Trask: tall black man in X3, white hobbit in DOFP.
-Emma Frost: teenager in Origins, adult in First Class.
-Moira McTaggart: Young woman in X3, Young woman in First Class.
-Angel: kid in 90's flashback and adult in X3, teenager in Apocalypse.
-Jubilee: teenager in all 3 X-men films, teenager in Apocalypse.

As for Deadpool, he may be a different character from the one in Origins but the movie is most likely set in the new future ending of DOFP with Colossus as an adult and Negasonic Teenage Warhead texting before she tackles Angel Dust.

I personally choose to ignore a large proportion of origins... My fave part is the montage showing home growing up which is all good up until the 73 so I'm happy with that

Hmm, wait till Cable appears and drags some characters to the future. Just imagine the confusion.

I think the first trilogy and 2 Wolverine movies are no longer canon, and we should focus on First Class, DoFP and Apocalypse timeline, with the additions of Deadpool, Gambit, Wolverine 2 & New Mutants.

Besides I think the "parallel universe" of Legion is just an excuse for no Professor X or movie characters' appearances.
