Warner Premiere is revealing its proclivity for antagonists with razor-sharp teeth.

According to the folks at Moviehole - who have proven in the past to have solid sources within the halls of Warner Bros. - the DVD division responsible for this year's Lost Boys: The Tribe is at work on Deep Blue Sea 2.

If true, you can expect a follow-up to Renny Harlin's 1999 thriller about hyper-intelligent sharks to swim onto DVD in 2009. (Would that make the title DBS: 10 Years Later?) Warner has not found a director, but Moviehole says there are writers (plural) on board.

The first one was mediocore. It does not warrant a sequel. NO Renny Harlin film should be sequelized.

Well, IMO the chances of any connection to the original are next to zero - I mean, apart from simply rehashing the "shark eats people" premise for the umpteenth time. They already gave the sharks enhanced intelligence in the last one, so unless they're planning to give them arms, legs and speech this time I don't see this one being worth the effort.
