First off, I'm not gay. Secondly, I do believe homosexuality is a sin, but I do my best not to condemn people for it. Thirdly, how would you feel if someone made this kind of remark towards you, just because you chose to follow a higher standard? You'll notice I don't go around calling people names, or suggesting lewd encounters. All I ask is the same respect in return, that I show others. I agree that people who diagree with you should atleast have the decency to remain civil. That goes without saying.
As for your stance on homosexuality, saying/believing it is a sin and thereby condeming those who are homosexual and placing them below yourself or anyone else like you is a sin unto itself. Believing you are better because you are the way you are and the ones that are different is bigotry in a pure sense of the word. By also stating that you hold a ''higher standard'' you are trying to elevate yourself and put other notions of sexuality down the ladder.
You see the danger in this don't you? When you think you are better then a whole lot of people. I myself am guilty of this too from time to time but I atleast know I am and therefor can counter my own bigotry. Be the master of your feelings and not the slave. I used to feel threatened by gays and their behavior, god if I see two men kissing I feel like becoming sick but it isn´t wrong for them to do so. It is their right to live the life they choose and live it the way they like. People are the way they are for a reason. So in conclusion it isn´t that much that there´s something wrong with them but more in the lines that you will have to cope with them being the way they are wether you like it or not. :heart:

i didn't direct it at you specifically. i just pointed out that a lot of the time people who are that repressed and act morally superior to the rest of us are the ones who end up being the most depraved. ever heard of the reverend ted haggard?

Irony is pure humor and yes sometimes the fear gay bashers have stems from there inner self. They seem to subconsciously know they are either gay or bi and fight gays while in fact they are fighting their own feelings.
This not true in all cases of gay bashing however.

yeah, i get sick of the hypocrisy of the supposedly morally superior christian conservatives. it always cracks me up when you have someone like haggard preaching about the sin of homosexuality while he secretly has a homosexual affair, or senator david vitters who sponsors a bill to "protect" traditional marriage from those godless homosexuals while cheating on his wife with a prostitute. my rule of thumb is if someone fiercely preaches about something being immoral, they're most likely guilty of that immorality (or worse) themselves and are trying to cover it up.

Actually, I'm not a fundamentalist. They use God's laws to bash people personally. I simply state them to the best of my ability, without being deliberately harmful.
