Denzel and Antoine Fuqua to ride with The Magnificent Seven

It's not the most groundbreaking of films but it's a solid, enjoyable couple of hours. I was impressed how beautiful it looks visually.

I'm surprised Antoine Fuqua hasn't been asked to do a superhero film yet, he can direct action well.

Keep forgetting to post my thoughts on this. Saw it on Sunday and loved it.

It was well acted, the characters were cool, the story was good and the action was great. I personally think the end battle was the best action sequence so far this year.

Wish Hawke and Washington had more one on one time. Im a big fan of Training Day so it was great to see them on screen together with Fuqua directing

I was surprised that they [BLACKOUT]killed off Pratt. Hawke I could tell was a goner but if I remember in the original Brenner, McQueen, and the kid lived so I expected Pratt to make it [/BLACKOUT]

Can't wait to pick this up and watch it again

I think that:
Killing off Pratt was meant to be a big surprise, precisely because most people wouldn't see it coming given how hot a property in Hollywood he is right now, and Fuqua was well-aware of that.

Also if you noticed:
All three White members of the team (plus the Asian) die. The survivors are the Black guy, the Mexican, and the Native American.

Not a good movie at all, can't stand movies that try to be funny but just aren't. Way too much failed humor

Saw this tonight, enjoyed it quite a bit. It's certainly not the original (or the original Original), but it was a well-made good time at the movies which is all I was hoping for. And the final showdown definitely delivered.

Saw it... kinda liked it. The movie kind of went through the motions and meandered its way through the first two acts, ending with an admittedly cool final showdown. The script wasn't anything to write home about, predictable as all hell. Pratt felt out of place at times, he didn't really fit the aesthetic.

Saw it and thought it was cool and entertaining but its nothing that we haven't seen before.
I was very shocked at pratts character being killed off though, i never saw that coming or maybe his schedule was full if a sequel was on the cards.

That was good fun. The action was pretty great and I really enjoyed just about everyone of the "Seven"

I didn't think they'd kill Pratt and D'Onofrio needs to stop making movies with Pratt if he wants to be alive at the end :funny:

I enjoyed the absolute hell out of this. I know the concept of 'fun' has become this homogenised checklist that applies to every film in the exact same manner without variation nowadays, and this doesn't tick all those boxes, but this is easily the most fun I've had watching a movie all year. It's a welcome return to the more basic western of the 50's that all shooty shooty and great comrederie.

It's an enjoyable film but it's very cliche.

Hence the money it made.

I saw it this afternoon....really enjoyed it. Great visuals of the west, good acting, and some great action. The final shootout is one of the best ones made.
