"Dexter" on Showtime

I was hoping Brian would have gotten away, as I heard thats what happened in the book.

I don't think he'll do anything to Doakes...that OR (and this is off the wall) maybe Doakes finds out but supports it (because he's the type that is a bit unorthodox himself and seems like he wants the scum off the street regardless of the method (and it'd make a Hell of a twist).

Doakes did kill that guy who was a target from his special ops days, so you might have a point.

Glad 2 see Dex can actually hold his own when he fought Doakes.

Yeah, that was pretty cool. Son of a cop, you don't really have an excuse for not being able to defend yourself.

I loved how Dexter imagined the parade in his honor at the end. That man is INSANE!! . . .but at least he knows it.

That was a good Prestige making homeboy his brother. I never read the books so that was quite a shocker for me.

This could very well be the best show on tv.

Anyone think that in S2 Doakes will learn the secret, and maybe feel like Dex is doing a good thing, but will still watch him to make sure he isn't killing innocent people? I think that would be an awesome storyline, you know, Dex and Doakes somewhat friends.

That's almost exactly what I said about 8 posts ago :woot:

He might, I mean they veered so much off from the ending of the first book that they very well may have Doakes finding out in the second season, although it would be so awesome if they would follow what happens to him in the second book. Also I do kinda wish that in the series that they would have Brian at least escape, in the book Dexter lets him go after he kills La Guerta.

I don't think Dexter and Doakes will ever be friends or just be neutral, they both have dark secrets.

Not so obvious questions:

So did rudy kill his real father?
if so why?

Who were the other people in the storage container were dex and his brother were found.?

What did his father go to prison for?

Rudy didn't kill his father which would also be Dexter's father too I guess, its never really mentioned what happens to him, if he dies as well. Dexter's mom was the other person in the container, chopped up. As well as either his father chopped up or someone else they haven't mentioned.

I thought dexter's dad was killed by the cable guy. And that old lady identified rudy as the cable guy right?

Rudy killed Dex's dad on the show. Now, they could be half brothers. Who knows.

I think that might have been the case.

Damn, I'm sorry. I keep getting the books and TV Series screwed up. You're right. They may be half brothers after all. But then wouldn't that be his dad too? Because he said that his mother was run over by a car or bus while getting the mail, he told that to Dexter when he went over for steaks at his apartment. Unless that was a lie, but I wouldn't know the reason for that. He did say they were blood brothers. The way I see it, same father, different mothers. Thats the only way it could work if Rudy's birth mother was run over.

They have the same mother, remember it was Dex and Brian that were in the shipping container. He made it up about the getting run over. He said in the season finale about all the body parts flying around, talking about their mother.

At first it did'nt make sense that they were brothers, but then I started to think about the entire season. Why would a serial killer be so randomly interested in Dex. Rudy was there for him to do away with his fathers ashes and was genuinly trying to help his little brother in his own way. they put this together nicely.

I still think Rudy was from a different father. Dex had the small memory of his father, and Biney wasn't there.

Yeah.

Watched this show from beginning to end, completely obsessed. One of the BEST shows I've ever seen, and that finale was really something :wow:
I actually jumped out of my seat three times during the finale, once when Dex caught Doakes' fist, another time when Dex stopped Brian from killing Deb, the third when he snuck up behind Brian and went Agent 47 on his ass with the wire :ninja:
I REALLY hope Michael C. Hall wins the Globe

So do I. Besdies Six feet under, has Michael C. Hall been in anything else? He looks familiar from a movie, but I don't know for sure.

Six Feet Under was his first non-stage role. He's done mostly theater work.

I thought he was in some independent movie.... I remember seeing a trailer for it....

Paycheck and some other movie. I checked IMDB earlier but don't remember the other movie. I think he has one of those faces as well.

I was laughing my ass off when dex showed a fake sign of concern when they told him his sister might have been taken and the black cop was like cut the crap. LOL
