Jerry said:
Oh I just figured it was cancelled since there hasn't been anyone on this thread for a week. Sorry.

 i will cut you for this :cmad:

I'm just joshing you guys, it really was cancelled. Weirdly enough though I couldn't find it on the net anywhere either. The only way I knew was from the Chicago Sun Times. I had to scan the mother****er in, which isn't as easy as I thought it would be.

Edit: how the hell do I get the newspaper clip up?

what are talking about its all over Ign and showtime that dexter will kill again.

Finally figured it out.

Like there was a lot of discussion on this thread before that. Lighten up.

Yeah just a joke to get things moving in this thread, didn't you read the last paragraph?

Jerry that's some funny ****, you bastard. :cmad: :woot:

well August 17th 2007 Dexter in the Dark hits bookshelves... however, i dont think the show is going to keep following the books. season one used about half of the book, but added a ton. season 2 will probably use the same general story, but also be completely different...maybe they are just starting off with book adaptions and slowly moving away from it, that way if there is no 4th book, i trust the writers of these 2 seasons will be more than capable of making a great 4th season.

Yes he was.

And I agree that the writers could make a good stand alone season without a book to inspire a storyline. Hell they pretty much made it their own during the first season, keeping just the basic outline and story. But I do hope they keep the next main "villian" from the second book and that little side story with Cody and Dexter. That would be awesome.

yea definately keep the same killer. im reading the second book, Dearly Devoted Dexter, now, about 20 pages after they found the first victim

this killer does indeed make Brian look like a a little B****, i cant wait to find out how he does all this sick stuff to his victims and keeps them alive. the Doakes/Dexter side story is getting good too.

Also, they need to refer to the Dark Passenger much more, its such a cool angle for Dexter. Hopefully in season 2 he sits around drinking Miller Lite like in the book, that was just funny.

Yeah I agree 100 percent. Thats exactly what I said earlier in this thread. The whole Dark Passenger part of Dexter is the thing I liked most about in the book that they didn't really go into in the show until like the end where he mentioned it once. They should have him speak like in the book when he captures the guy he is hunting, things like "We have you now, do as we say." Stuff like that would make it a lot better, show the entire dark side of Dexter. Or like the Dark Passenger has its own voice inside Dexter and takes over him when he goes out to
"feed the hunger". They didn't really delve into that angle of it. He is more of an avenger in the TV show, which is ok, its just a slightly different take. The book has him as more of a darker, truly emotionless person whereas throughout the first season, Dexter seems to grow more human. Each version is good, I just prefer the book.

yea agreed 100%. The show makes him out to just have a darker side he hides, where as the books make him more like a schizophrenic, kinda like Gollum from Lord of the Rings. Hes much more disturbing in the books.

Jerry...
Please tell me the killer in Dearly Devoted isnt Brian...i would stop reading the series completely if thats so. Cause he did get away.

No its not Brian. But why would you stop reading if it was?

i just dont like repetition. i enjoyed how brian was just like dexter in his killings, well i supposed it would be interesting having brian evolve into the monster this new killer is.

Man I loved that whole ending sequence when dexter when to his old house and had the flashback of him as a kid. When they showed his moms fingernails I was like :wow: how did the icetruck killer know about that then she was like wheres your brother and I was :wow: :wow: ohhhhh Shieeett. Then homeboy comes out of hiding purely genius scene.

One thing puzzles me. They said she was a drug addict? From that jail photo she looked pretty hardcore. But in the flashback she seemed really nice w/ a good head on her shoulders. She mustve cleaned up her act.

So was dexter and rudy half brothers w/ the same momma. I think they were.

Who were the other three bodies that were chopped up in the cargo box?

Who did the chopping?

So many questions:csad:

i was under the impression they had the same mom and dad.

Maybe its different in the books but Why would rudy kill his dad? It was quite clear that rudy killed dexters dad in an episode. Maybe Dex's dad was the chainsaw guy?

well neither rudy or dexter knew their dad, so it probably wasnt hard to kill him, and in doing so he got an entire weekend with dexter. if his dad was the chainsaw guy wouldnt he still be in jail? he was 60 years old. unless he got out bc of maybe insanity plea?
