Considering:
FEARLESS #1

One of those rare weeks when ASTONISHING X-MEN ships, and despite the fact that it usually is a Top 10 seller in whichever random month it ships, one gets the feeling that the editorial board is slowly leaving it for dead. They yanked Cassaday off art so he could do some Avengers related material, sacrificing the AXM audience for the presumably bigger Avengers/CW/Initiative audience, an act that I see in bad faith considering Marvel's destiny literally hung on X-Fans for a decade or longer. Essentially, like Marvel treating X-Fans as be-all's when their books were the top sellers, and then kicking them to the curb like bums now that Avengers and related MU titles are hot ****. In addition, and in a better note, the X-editorial board noticed that AXM has the best X-Men roster yet it isn't connected to anything the core books are doing due to slowness of schedule and story, so it makes zero sense to exclude that roster for teams favoring Cannonball, Mystique and Lady Mastermind for F's sakes. So the Astonishing cast will debut in MESSIAH COMPLEX and probably have more to do outside of AXM now. That is a smart move, and frankly I am amazed it took over a year to figure. AXM is a golden goose, but a goose can't fit into a flock of ducks.

ASTONISHING X-MEN is entertaining but slow and overrated, and I am still waiting for Whedon to do something "bad ass" with Cyclops since removing his powers and having him redon a jacket that not even Jubilee would be caught dead in, and she raided Dick Tracy's closet in the 90's. Really, waving a handgun around and shooting down mental illusions, while still being dick-whipped by Emma, would be fantastic for the Punisher, but not for Cyke. But above all, this is Yet Another X-Alien Story and nothing so far has proven otherwise (the Breakworld aliens are so shallow, they make Saiyens from DBZ look like a deeply fleshed culture. They make me MISS THE SHI'AR!!). This run may literally be the most overrated run of the 21st century, second only to Bendis works. With 2 issues left, though, I do want to see how it ends, and Cassaday could draw a phone book and make it look entertaining.

Everything else, though, is great Marvel stuff; three of my favorite books, actually. And there is FEARLESS, which I want to try because I liked the solict and cover image. So I anticipate a great week to kick off November.

Wow. I read this and could almost feel the frustrated anger pouring through the text across the Internet.

And I agree. THOR delays are lame. They could come to haunt Marvel because Thor returned with monster sales.

I wonder how much delays will hurt their HALO comic, as "real world" customers may not deal with delays like the "taken for granted comic fan".
