Shut up. Please. Go read one of your "I'm so indie it hurts" books.

:csad:

Blue Beetle is joy.

You're just upset because Phere said it was superior to Invincible. :oldrazz:

I still stand by that statement.

Invincible only became that popular because it was the only book at the time it came out that offered you those type of stories. Now, there are about 10 books out there that can give you what Invincible has. It's not so special anymore.

X-Factor > Blue Beetle >>>>>>>>>>> Invincible.

Right. And Invincible still does it best. Glad we agree.

It's good. It's not as good as other books. And indie books are never so good that they hurt. Slight tingle, maybe, but not hurt. ;)

What's funny is that Darthphere doesn't read Invincible month to month. He waits for the hardcovers to come out. There's a been a LOT happening in that book since the last hardcover. Factor in that it gets better with each issue, and Darth's statement is basically, "Blue Beetle is better than this book that I haven't read."

In all seriousness, BB is a good book. In my opinion, it's not a great book. I respect your opinion, though, considering that you're not the one saying it's better then this book or that book that you don't even read.

I read both INVINCIBLE and BLUE BEETLE month to month and in my opinion INVINCIBLE is better. But it also has a freedom that BLUE BEETLE doesn't have, as BB is connected to DC stuff, as one can see with the recent spat of tie-in's. INVINCIBLE also has it's own continuity and Kirkman can make up any rules that he wants for the universe; Rogers & Giffen couldn't. They've done a lot, but it isn't the same.

Frankly, I probably enjoy DYNAMO 5 and ASTOUNDING WOLF-MAN more than BLUE BEETLE, too.

But, BLUE BEETLE usually comes out more regularly, as the above books have been delayed more often. AW-M is an outright bimonthly; INVINCIBLE straddles bimonthly frequently and DYNAMO 5 has hits and misses. BLUE BEETLE has usually been on time.

I give BLUE BEETLE a lot of credit for having veteran co-launcher Giffen leave that book and Rogers hasn't missed a beat at all. He's maintained the feel of the book and still delivers some nice action. It has had some bumps in the run but it usually offers good superheroes stories and some of the funniest dialogue on the racks in a format that isn't nearly as decompressed as many other books. It isn't bleak or bitter, even when characters seem to die. Jamie has a supporting cast that SUPPORT him, but don't hog the book. And the setting is seperate from most other superhero cities, with more of a Latin feel that doesn't shove it down out necks (ARANA's launch, I am looking at you) or bombard us with too many stereotypes. It is easily my favorite DC book out of the few that I buy and I look forward to it moreso than a few of Marvel books I could mention.

TheCorpulent1 picked one of the funniest bits as an avatar. Hell, I could mine BLUE BEETLE for good quotes for that DC Topic about them.

Unfortunately, BLUE BEETLE's sales prove what Kirkman has mentioned; anything remotely light-hearted seems to be the kiss of death in terms of sales. Even Dan Slott's had to "go grim" to keep A:TI up there.

Sad but true. There are still a few funny comics hanging around, though--She-Hulk being the most prominent of them. Although, whether that'll survive post-Slott is anybody's guess. David's first issue was good, though.

That's a pretty ****ty argument. When I read the book is, irrelevant. The fact is, I read the book, just not at your pace. So to say that I "don't even read that book" is both wrong and stupid.

DC COMICS
COUNTDOWN TO FINAL CRISIS 25 $2.99 (maybe)

MARVEL COMICS

ASTONISHING X-MEN #23 $2.99 (Finally!)
CRIMINAL #10 (MR) $2.99 :woot:
IMMORTAL IRON FIST #10 $2.99
NEW AVENGERS ILLUMINATI #5 (OF 5) $2.99
UNCANNY X-MEN SILVESTRI VAR #492 MC $2.99

I think I should definitely try X-Factor though, since this is a small week but very high-quality week I think I'll try some X-Factor, which i've been meaning to read. I never saw what was so special about Invincible (or Kirkman in general) though.

There's nothing special, that's why. Not anymore anyway. People need to stop living in the past.

If there's nothing special about it, then why do you like it? :o

I didn't notice this one, I've been wanting to get this title for awhile now.
Maybe reading it will finally stop me from hearing Deniece Williams' "Let's Hear it for the Boy" every time I read the title.

Because it's really good?

I like how in one minute you can basically bash the book by saying it's nothing special and that there's a million other books that tell the same kinds of stories with the same feel, and the next you're praising it because it's "really good". :whatever:

i thought i'll never see the day where darth has gone off the deep end, invincible is alot better then all those two books combined, ****ing blue beetle better then Invincible?! Nope, nada, no way in hell. your taste reeks of left overs from johns boxers.

It's a cross we must all bear on those few occasions GAH's opinions line up with ours.

I don't know what to do. I feel like by his agreeing with me, my opinion is somehow less valid. :(

Something can be really good, and not be anything special. Kind of like a movie, you've seen that type of movie 8 million times, but hey you think this one is really good, but nothing special.

And may God help you for agreeing with GAH.

I don't know. If I like something, it's usually because I've found something special about it to like.

And may God help you for agreeing with GAH.

Let it be known that GAH agreed with me, not the other way around. It's different. Not by much. But it's better then nothing. :(

But we all know you rode the short bus to school, you're "different". And I'll go on the record saying that there really isn't anything special about Blue Beetle either, I just enjoy it more than Invincible, the book I don't don't read.

Well, it's been established that your opinion is worth less then ****, so you can go on record about whatever you want.

GAH's agreed with loads of people before. It would be statistically impossible for him not to.
