Diamond List for October 24, 2007

It's really generic art and reminiscent on the stuff they put out on those lower Dynamite titles.

Yeah, you're right. You might not have taste in art, but at least you know it when you recognize it. ;)

Depends. Roger Cruz did the main series and part of the AF story. Mark Brooks did the first and last parts of the AF story and basically none of the main series.

ANybody see that Moon Knight preview?

That Tom Coker fella can sure make a pretty picture,I'm surprised he isn't on an ongoing.

Yeah, he rocks.

I may be thinking of Roger Cruz, then.

Even then, it looks nothing like Roger Cruz's art. He started as a Joe Mad clone. And when I say clone, I mean it. He angered Mad enough to the point where he'd include references in his work. Things like newspapers in the background with the headlines "Cruz Swipes Again!". Then Cruz did his Arana style and now he's doing a minimalist cartoony style that I actually like when it's being colored by Val Staples. He's the artist for X-Men: First Class.

Yeah, I looked them up. I was thinking of Brooks. Brooks has a more manga-influenced style, but his linework looks similar to Rodriguez's to me. Maybe I'm weird.

They are. I'm sure I wouldn't see some similarities between artists that you do, too. It's all subjective.

You don't honestly believe that, but if you did, I'm sure you could find some way to justify it. They're all using the same tools to do the same things, just in different styles and layouts.

I've got proof that Will Eisner has swiped from David Aja no less then three times.

Not only that, but the reason Pablo Raimondi's and Skottie Young's artwork is so similar is because they're the same person.

I just saw the preview for Moon Knight. The art is absolutely fantastic.
