Dick Grayson Casting Thread

Dylan O'Brien I am sure will make one pretty badass Dick/Nightwing/Robin probably even better than Chris O'Donnell's Robin from way back when

If this Nightwing movie ever comes to fruition, would people here want to see Dick as JUST Nightwing? Sure, we and probably some of the general audience knows Dick Grayson was Robin at one point, but would anyone want any sort of flashback to him as Robin? Not necessarily with Batman, but just in the suit at all?

Then again, no idea if we'll ever see this incarnation of Batman working with a partner when he's in his own element, whether it's Dick, Barbara, or even Tim Drake assuming this universe would have one.

Side-note, was watching some clips from the Animated Series and really enjoyed this bit between Dick and Bruce in Robin's Reckoning. A point that, I think, really hits at the heart of their partnership-

He's a decent actor and he plays the heroic type well.
He has the look(just dye his hair)
He's exactly half Affleck's age(22) and the right age to have been taken in by bruce,trained,and gone off to do his own thing.

Did folks happen to catch Chris McKay's words on what he wants from a Dick Grayson actor? Well, was in a series of tweets, anyway:

His relationships, his conflicts with Batman et al felt real to me because he was the window character with which we experienced Gotham city


He has too (love Nightwing as much as McKay does). It has to be full commitment. Every day. It is going to be gruelling from a martial arts, gymnastics and stunt perspective.

Also emotionally taxing. It's going to be real.

I actually thought some of the other actors from Dunkirk would be good as Nightwing, like Fionn or Aneurin. Harry doesn't fit the role though, even if he was good in the movie.

Kit Harrington from GOT has the look,. but idk if he has the acting chops to pull off the charisma Dick has.

I think Kit could pull it off, but I think his (former) GoT costar Richard Madden is a better fit, just based off the more lighthearted characters I've seen him play (in The Take and Klondike).

I actually didnt think of Madden at all. He isnt a bad fit,. all ive see of his is GOT and i would say he seems more charasmatic than Kit does.

This is a hard role to cast. I can really see WB handing the cowl to Dick at some point, so whoever they cast has to be believable as Batman.

Maybe they should just give the role to Armie Hammer.

I would absolutely want to see some flashbacks and it's something they should take into account when casting, who could be believable in both suits. Might have to do some movie magic with his appearance, age wise and body type, because I believe Nightwing has a lot more body mass than traditional Robin
