The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Did Andrew Garfield know that this film would be mixed with the critics?

Maybe the script was better before things got cut? Maybe he liked it personally?

yes is that so hard to believe? obviously andrew only read the script and there was likely several changes during production but at the same time he is allowed to be excited by whats on offer in the script

Critical reception means jack-****. Box-Office performance and word-of-mouth will determine its success or failure, and thus far, both have been positive (and the film still hasn't been released in the U.S. yet).

Oddly enough, critical reception and WOM are not oceans apart. There are exceptions of course but most of the highest rated films (especially CBMs) had good WOM.

Plus you know, he gets to play the boyfriend of his girfriend and be his childhood superhero, don't know why he wouldn't love the script honestly.

He wrote little bits of it too so he's personally attached to it. Calling the bloke a liar is pretty repugnant in all honesty.

agreed :highfive:

Robert Pattinson would be a better example

"...The more I read the script, the more I hated this guy, so that's how I played him, as a manic-depressive who hates himself."

"When I read it I was convinced Stephenie was convinced she was Bella and it was like it was a book that wasn't supposed to be published. It was like reading her sexual fantasy, especially when she said it was based on a dream and it was like, 'Oh I've had this dream about this really sexy guy,' and she just writes this book about it. Like some things about Edward are so specific, I was just convinced, like, 'This woman is mad. She's completely mad and she's in love with her own fictional creation.' And sometimes you would feel uncomfortable reading this thing.

LoL everyone, even the Twlight cast knows how terrible the books and movies are. The only people that think they are good are teenage girls, young adult girls and horny housewives. Bella has no redeeming qualities about her unlike Spider Man/ Peter and Gwen. The twlight movies teach girls how important it is to get a man and that's it which is sad.
