Did anyone else hope for this to happen?

I always found it to be a missed opportunity, but what the film gave us was alright.

When Harry and Peter are fighting in the Osborn mansion, when they start destroying the Goblin equipment, and various other things (that Harry made) anyone aside from me think that this would lead to Harry donning the original Goblin costume for the climax?

It's the fact that all of the New Goblin equipment is destroyed, but none of the originals are seen being harmed. Especially the way they build up his appearance in the end with the reprise of the Goblin theme, it would just be great to have the original Goblin fly in.

The only thing I was hoping would happen is Pete getting hit in the head with a brick every time he cried and/or danced.

I cared about your father." When Harry is driving away in his limo it would've been cool to see his father's reflection in the window saying something like,"He didn't care about anyone but himself,Harry. He ruined your life! Now,it's time to ruin his!"
I just don't think there was enough "Norman Osborn" in the film,encouraging his son.

Yeah, especially before Harry took the performance enhancers. There should've been more pressure on him from his father in advance.

Exactly. Everytime Harry felt guilt over hating Peter,his father would be there telling him that Peter(and MJ)don't really care. Just as Peter needed to try and resist the symbiote,Harry needed to do the same with his father.

It would have indeed been cool if he would have donned a goblin mask at least ONCE in the movie. IMO he should have worn it in the first fight with him and Peter to show he is evil, then turned up at the final battle with it on, then thrown it away when he embraced Peter, to show that he was there to help and not an evil person anymore.

I've never decided to go and read the novelizations, but if what you're saying about SM3 is true, I might check it out.

I really think I would have pissed my pants if the old GG costume came in. Slightly modified. The only weird thing would be not seeing Harry's face you know? I think that did alot for the character at the end.

But imagine that shot of him coming in Glider-Tackling Venom...only with the OLD suit.
