Granted he needed to be stopped but i would have rather him get killed. What do you all think?

Was he actually cured though.....

I think they just needed a way to stop him. They havent wiped out any of the main characters entirely. Killing Magneto would mean Ian wouldnt be in X-Men 4 if it happened and maybe the Magneto spin-off will have Magneto sat playing chess like at the end of X3 and him having flashbacks about his past and how he got his powers, meeting Charles and how he ended up in the state he is in now. They have left everything open.

Yeah and he will be super mad. But do think had charles been alive and at the final battle he would have prevented this?

I was surprised that he was still alive to discover that he still had powers. It'd be more in character for him to have at least attempted suicide rather than live as a flatscan.

If Charles had been alive then maybe it would be Xavier who stops Jean. Perhaps Jean turned on Magneto and injured or killed him. Then Xavier would have to take action.

I suppose Xavier being alive may have prevented it but it all depends on what is written and how they want things to pan out.

really it would have made more since for mags to roll over and tell jean to kill them all.

He still had some power though. He obviously felt it in him otherwise I would have expected him to kill himself.

Yeah because he didnt seem suprised at the end.

I cant remember seeing his face after the chess peice moved.

I think curing Mags was the best move because it was the worst thing anybody could do to him. If he died then he would have been seen as a martyr by the Brotherhood, but curing him and making him into a normal human being - the specie he despised was the ultimate punishment.

He lost his powers in the comics at the end of House of M, too. Did he get them back yet?

First of all, it´s left in the air if he´s really cured... second, the joker is right, curing Magneto is worse to him than being killed, being a mutant was everything to him, look at how he deals with Mystique when she´s cured. He didn´t care at all about the person, only about the mutant.

Why did they need all four darts for Magneto? One dart seemed more then enough for Mystique and company. The only reason I ask is, why not try and split the doses between Jean and Magneto. Two each with Logan trying to cure her before he needed to impale her. Just a thought but I enjoyed X3 exactly as is.

The lame thing is, Wolverine and Storm were already planning on off'ing Phoenix even before they went into battle. Storm's "The question is: will you be ready when the time comes for you to do what you need to do?" LAME. :down

It wouldn't have worked it Wolverine had tried to cure Jean. She destroyed tons of those darts when they were being shot at her. If Wolverine had been carrying any, they would have been destroyed in his hands. I think.

It would have been appropriate to have killed him, but even better was his curing. It ended, for the time being, his rants for mutant 'supremecy' and was very fitting.

If they wanted to have her cured they could have. That's how movies work.

If jean could destroy all those cures why not kill wolverine because the new writers decided that his healing greatly increased and super hearing and smelling decreased between x2 x3 ?

Professor X & Magneto should've gone out in a blaze of glory together trying to take down Dark Phoenix; Mystique shouldn't have been cured, she should've lead the charge at the final battle. Jean could've been the one to move the bridge seeing as magneto wasn't around, and fried every human on it in the process.
