The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Did anyone like ASM2 better than Cap2 & DOFP?

VERY tiny section considering box office and reviews.

The box office for all 3 movies is comparable. Sure, the numbers for cap and Xmen is up whilst the Spidey numbers are down but essentially a similar amount of people saw all 3 movies. So are can you gauge preference from similar numbers?

The user critic difference is 20% but that is purely based on the movies those users saw. It is a case of 'did you enjoy (insert movie)? Not did you prefer this movie to that movie'.
I would have given DoFP and Cap2 a fresh rating as well.

Basically I don't want to drawn into an argument as it's been done to death. Suffice to say I preferred ASM2, the individuals and masses are welcome to prefer what they please without getting pulled up for it

As someone who doesn't have "favourite" characters, TWS and DoFP are clearly better movies. I enjoyed TWS the most. For me it just has more well rounded characters and a more streamline, yet intelligent story. I mean, Brock Rumlow wouldn't even be considered a fully fledged supporting character, yet he has a more consistent and compelling characterisation than Harry Osborne... the main villain of ASM2.

The only people i can see choosing ASM2 over the other two are big Spider-Man fans. But to them i say, don't just accept mediocrity simply because it features your favourite character. You should expect and want better.

Can't you accept that some people like TASM2 more than TWS?So just fanboys liked it? I'm tired of this ****,just deal with it.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Causing more arguments than The Amazing Spider-Man. So it truly is a sequel.

Deal with what? It's no skin off my back.

At the end of the day 90% of the people who choose ASM2 over TWS and DoFP are hardcore Spidey fans.

But unbias viewers who don't have favourite characters are choosing either TWS DoFP. This is just something i've noticed.

But this topic is asking if anyone likes ASM2 more than Cap2 and DoFP.

You can gauge/compare WOM based on the legs displayed by each movies though.
And on the matter, TASM2's final multiplier will be on par with Green Lantern's which is not a widely liked movie to say the least.

And that is totally cool.

I like Harold and Kumar Get The Munchies more than 2001: A Space Odyssey.

But i ain't gonna try and say Harold and Kumar is a better film than 2001. Coz that'd make me an idiot.

:lmao:

I like how you want to bring TASM2 down.

Whatever.

Which is exactly how I feel about ASM2 vs. TWS, for instance.

Of course I recognize that TWS is in many ways a better written and edited film - it flows much better than ASM2.

But I just happen to prefer ASM2 because I found it more entertaining. Which of course could be because of my love for Spidey, but again, that's just being a fan.

So while bias may not be a good thing, it isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I am a big spider man fan probly about has big has a fan has someone who hasn't read the comics could be has I have all 5 movies and have watched them to many times to count and have sever spider man video games. It doesn't mean I am going to accept mediocrity I just don't find the movie to be medicore far from it. I am a big batman fan to and yet I can hardly watch any batman movie before the dark knight trligy has I find them to be medicore. I don't think we have had a bad sm movie yet. Sm 3 while I didn't hate it I agreed with a lot that was said about it. This movie I just don't see the problems that people talk about. I thought the pacing was good and the action and the story and I didn't find the movie chessy at all. I found sm 1-3 far far more chessy then this movie that is why I am confused by people and this movie. I just don't get how people can find this to be a bad movie I don't see the problems that people complain about. I really fell like everthing people say is just a nick pick. Asm2 is by far the second best sm movie yet to me with sm 2 being the best. To me sm 2 and asm2 are great movies while I find asm1 sm3 to be slightly good movies and I find sm1 to be slightly good has the movied hasn't aged while. It just shows that people have different appines when it comes to everthing.

I really love spider man and batman and don't really care for other superheros yet I loved Xmen DOFP but I liked asm2 more and I found both Xmen DOFP and asm2 better then captian 2 but I do like captian 2 but I think asm2 and DOFP are great and captain 2 good but not great.

It means it's ok to like poorly made films more than well made ones. Just don't try to say the poorly made film is better than the well made one.

Still pretty much subjective, but gotcha.

That's just subjective to though has I don't find asm2 to be a poorly made film at all. That's just a appina you have doesn't mean everyone thinks it was a poorly made film.

I notice that too.

Glad someone finally said it.

With regard to the bold, I agree wholeheartedly. Felt the exact same way about Man of Steel last year, and good GOD those fans wouldn't let it go. Thread after thread about the critical and audience reception that they supposedly didn't care about. What kills me though is that I'm a huge Spider-Man fan myself, but I refuse to be a shill or a sycophant for whomsoever has license to use the character. I'm a fan, but for specific reasons, never just because. I think you do the character a disservice as a fan when you celebrate (and viciously defend) a mediocre or sub-par offering for no other reason than it being a depiction of one of your favorite characters. The funny thing is that fans used to have the strictest standards for adaptations, but nowadays, it seems that just getting any old adaptation is enough for some of them. *shrugs*

What has that got to do with anything?

A lot, actually. The point is that there's a pretty substantial contingent of fans that can't seem to separate the idea that their likes and dislikes aren't necessarily analogous to quality; not always, anyway. It's disingenuous at best, and at worst, it shows blatant disrespect and irreverence towards whatever, and solely because it doesn't tickle one's fancy. I often wonder if people take that same attitude with regard to their diets. Ice cream may be your favorite food, but is it the best food? You might enjoy hang gliding, but is it the best way to commute? Your favorite picture might be a washed out selfie, but is it really superior to a properly composed portrait? I'd like to think that most people would say 'no' to the above, but I've been wrong before. In some cases, it seems like there's a bizarrely misplaced sense of pride that stops people from calling their new favorite movie "TEH BEST THANG EVAH!!!111"

Quality is subjective. BUT, if there is a mass consensus on something, then the small minority going against the vast majority better realize that they may be in fact, off base. Saying you think the movie didn't have editing, pacing, or writing issues for example while the vast majority on top of people who get paid to analyze these things for a living probably means you are wrong. Enjoying the movie is an entirely different thing that matters not what anyone else says.
