...Some were expecting a lot more from the EQ-sequence, and didn't get it! How did you feel about the action in the last quater of the film... was there enough? was it intense enough? Or did you think it was too emotional driven, instead of action-packed (as most movie's would've been)

didnt need it..it was PERFECT the way it was..to me...i rather be sayin wow..that got to me than OH SHID that was cool as hell..yanno? thats just me

I actually thought there was too much at the end. Like they were trying to display more powers than needed. Particularly the fire, it just seemed useless to me.

I would have preferred to have seen a huge wave of water coming from NK, I was kinda dissapointed.

Same here... compared to the train battle in spidey 2, then how did YOU think the action during the EQ was??? I'm so damn pokey cause I'll first be seeing the film on August 4'th.

People keep saying this movie didn't have action. I thought everything was perfect. Did everyone think they were seeing Rambo?

How much action is in STM...the barometer with which all superhero movies are measured?

The Earthquake (I'm assuming EQ means that) was cool, but not all that breathtaking to me. Everything that came after it was though. Those final action scenes outdo anything I think I've ever seen on film.

So there IS more after the earth quake sequence, in terms of action... I mean, I know that supes throws a surden something into space, but other then that??? I'm not asking you to say what it is, I'm just looking for a YES or NO, to if there are more then that:)

TRUE TRUE, I agree, and I'm DEFINITLY not complaining (haven't even seen the film yet, and I wanna LOVE it) I'll take a good story over action any day, dont doubt that.

I will be very surprised if you come out nothing short of amazed.

I have no doubt that I will, thanks! over and out:)

i'm sick of people complaining aboutthe action. it had just as much as any other comic book movie.

would you guys prefer a micheal bay version of superman?

Yes.

^Exactly Mr. Credible. The movie delivered in terms of action IMO.

Actually, Bryan Singer delivered a good film overall as well.

Wouldn't it have been awesome though if Supes had beat on the henchmen?

I thought once Superman eliminated new krypton, the movie fell apart. Same thing happened in Batman Begins with the whole narrows sequence at the end. Neither of these situations was catastrophic to the respective films, but IMO they are both the weakest points of each movie.

The movie was great I came in with very very low Expectations but came out pleasantly surprised..

Action wasn't a problem for me.. Superman is all about being a hero and not beating people up he did plently heroic feats in this movie to please everyone

i've been looking for words to describe what i felt, and you nailed it

the earthquake stuff was good, but yes not "breathtaking" for me

the adrenaline wasn't pumping like it was during the train fight in spidey2 or the car chase during batman begins. maybe b/c the buildup to it was slower, or that the movie held our hands to that point (like several other parts of the film)

Well, if you came in with low expectations, then it would be easy for the movie to make you think it was great, I would think.. anyway, glad you liked it.

The only things is that I almost forgot how strong superman is really supposed to be
Because of all those animation series lately where they keep depicting him as a lesser superman.

I thought he was pretty strong in that movie and the stadium scene where he had to land the airplane safely was great!
I guess most of the production money probably went there!

That just shows that we all have different opinions (and are allowed to of course), cause while I thought that the batmobile car-chase is very cool in BB, it wasn't breathtaking... But cool will do, and I wouldn't expect Superman Returns to deliever any other then that during the Earth quake.

Do we actually see him land the thing savely to the ground!?? and how does it look!?? It's not total CG, right??

I am not sure why people seem to think that superman should fight people. I assume some people are put off by the fact that he doesnt rumble with anyone but superman is suppose to be a non-violent character. He will avoid a fight if he can and if you have super powers like that I think mere fighting would be quite unnessecary.

Superman is not about fighting he is about saving. He will fight if he must but when going against human adversaries there is no real need.

That's not very pleasant, Naite22.

I originally supported Warners' decision to give the project to Singer, but I would much have preferred that Bay had handled it.

Bay draws a lot of unfair criticism. I really like his work with The Rock and Armageddon. He's a master of action, and of taking highly improbable scenarios and somehow carrying the audience through them via the sheer spirit and vitality he brings to his films.

He's also great with cinematographers, creating some beautiful imagery. The Norman Rockwell-style shots in Armageddon would have been perfect for Smallville.

He could have produced a film as equally good-looking as Superman Returns, and one that might have captured the joyful, thrilling escapism of the character much better than Singer's seems to have.
