Man, the IMAX theater is 20 miles away. I wanna see it there first, but my buddies don't get out of work until late and we might not be able to travel up there to catch it. I guess the regular theater will have to do tomorrow night...

I'm driving an hour to an Imax, pfffft 20 miles is cake :P

65 miles to my imax showing. I will dog tired wednesday, but i dont care. After seeing it the first time i am willing to drive 3 hours to an imax 3d. Gahhhhhh! Geekgasm. Sorry guys lost my bearing for asec

bought mine ont he 21st.... i stood in line for over 45 min waiting fro them :P

whoa,if that many tickets are selling,we could have a HUGE record breaker here.fingers crossed.

I am guessing it will not break any records, it might do VERY well but, with all the negative reviews pouring in lately, people might be putoff.

It's not a long drive, but the guys I'm going to see it with work at a bar and will be pushing it to make the show we are going to see. I'd love to drive to the IMAX, but I think seeing it with 2 good friends who happen to be huge Superman fans (we've all been waiting quite a while for this) will trump that experience.

I'll go see it in IMAX on Wednesday, when I'm off and I'm not obligated to hang out with certain friends.

yeah it's really strange... it's like all these extremely fantastic reviews then all of a sudden not so good ones wtf

It's pretty similar to Revenge of the Sith's review pattern, as well.

That thing made 50 mil in one day.

right but i'm hoping this film is far far better than revenge of the sith... screw the prequel trilogy that was just disappointment in general

Why use this film as a platform to bash the current White House administration?

Let's just put Jihad Kerry in the Oval Office and see what happens then...

Why use this platform to prove you're just as big a moron as the person you're bashing?

Yeah, gonna disagree with you there in general, but that wasn't the point--this is ostensibly a box-office thread. The quality of the reviews seems to be lining up with Revenge of the Sith's, and that didn't really dent the boxoffice at all, if that's the angle you're going to look at it from.

rob liefeld is gonna have a tough time talking anymore smack with that foot in his mouth.

and yeah...i havent bought any tickets yet....because i saw it last week :p
but im gonna go see it again soon....maybe over the weekend.

Sorry dudes but POTC2 is gonna knock SR out of the sky. Did anyone see the premier on E!? Disneyland went freaking nuts

I still have a hard time believing you're not mentally handicapped in some way. I know you told me you aren't, but I think you were fibbing a little.

yeah I have to agree with you on that, I cant believe E! went LIVE on the red Carpet last night just for Diney land ride and priemer, there was so many people there. I have never seen anything like that before for a movie

YEah and SR did not have so much people at its premier. SR might be No. 2 this summer.

Keira. No I don't find she looks hot anymore. Her teeth looks funny though.

Isn't there a whole thread about the asinine "Movie vs Movie" topic that people can't stop shooting off onto their stomach about? As in not this one?

Like Explode's 56K modem, he's a bit on the very slow side.

Ya I'm starting to believe the same.

Honestly theres no way to know right now between the 2.

Pirates has an established fanbase from the first one but also mainly draws in kids and teenagers for the majority. Pirates also lacks the level of in your face insane advertising that Superman had the past 2 weeks.

Superman has been anticipated for some time and has been advertised to death everywhere. It also has the potential to appeal to kids, teens, adults, seniors etc...equally around the board.. but its establishing its fanbase now, it isnt a sequel to a recently released picture.

So....its pretty much a draw.

Either way, both these films will kill the box office slump.
