Director's Cut in theaters for July

I hope it was filmed, because it seems like Bubastis should get more backstory in the director's cut. This is all just wishful thinking, but I'm sure there'll be more of the Doc on Mars.

And the director's cut needs to include Rorschach's origin: how he got the mask and how he responded to Kitty Genovese's murder. Also, it'd be nice to see Rorschach's response to the Keene Act: the dead multiple rapist with the "Never!" note attached to him.

Yes, this.

i hope there is extended comedian diolague in the DC, I wished the 'conversation' dan and him had during the riots was in the movie and it would flesh out his character better. and plus i wanna hear 'john god damn walking h bomb osterman' lol

Hell yes!

Question, do we know if the DC will contain Rorschach going back to his apartment to get his stuff after the jailbreak? I know in the movie he gets it back in the prison, but they could have easily filmed those 2 scenes knowing the original would be cut.

I cannot remember seeing this scene in the movie, and it certainly doesn't match up to any scene in the prison (again, that I can remember).

I hope the Directors cut has Rorschach with his "the end in nigh" sign talking to the newspaper man. that was the only thing i felt that was really missing from the film. If it was there it would of made his unmaksing more of a " HOY **** ITS HIM!!" moment. also i wanting him jumping out of the fridge in Molochs place ha ha. oh also him looking through the bin in the background while the newspaper guy goes " somtimes things are right infront of you and you dont even notice". one o my fave panels from the book.

i've read that the rorschach visiting veidt scene with the "possibly homosexual" line was shot and will be in the director's cut

if my plans are correct and wont change, i will be in New York in July for a visit
so I can go and see it as well :D

Wait, the Veidt Rorcach scene was filmed? I thought the Dan Veidt scene replaced it?

And I am certain they filmed Kovacs with Bernie so I can't wait for that to be there. I can't wait for the Bernie scenes, I'll actually feel something during the explosion, it really didn't effect me in the film. So this should help alot.

didnt the plans for the directors cut release in theaters depend on the theatrical cuts box office? if true, something tells me we'll only be seeing the directors cut on dvd.

Hopefully that's true because then the director's cut might come out on DVD sooner. :woot:

I was thinking about that to. I'm also pretty sure WB will still release a proper Directors Cut even if it doesn't end up doing as good as they had projected in the Box Office, so they can make their money back (and hopefully more) in DVD sales. I think they have quite the treasure trove of cash in DVD earnings.

So... When does WB announce the official release dates of the dvd's?

This could just be a closeup shot taken on set. It looks like he's in Dr. Long's office before he demands his "face" back.

Well, for certain we can say these scenes will be in the DC:

-Rorschach killing a police officer after the break-in to the Comedian's apartment (in the B-roll footage).
-Dr. Manhattan turning a missile into leaves during the Mars flashbacks (in the trailers and the ART OF WATCHMEN book).
-Some additional Nixon war room footage (glimpsed in the Japanese trailer).
-The death of Hollis Mason.
-Nite Owl's bar-room flip-out on one of the knotheads after learning of Mason's death.

Rorschach does not kill the cop. He just jams his finger into his throat.

Per the script...

Hollis has a scene where he speaks to Sally on the phone, and of course his death scene and Dan flipping out in the bar.

There's a sequence after Blake's funeral where Dan, Adrian and Jon meet and Adrian mentions his project with Jon, and how they should hold off an announcing it until it's ready.

The Black Freighter, of course.

There's some more Bernies stuff that leads in and out of The Black Freighter bits. There will also be more of Walter Kovacs, asking for his paper, etc.

Rorschach has some more journal entries. Veidt being a possible homosexual, and the "Even in the face of Armageddon, I shall not compromise in this" sequence.

Laurie has this whole other arc with at least two more scenes of her conflict between Dr. Manhattan and the government (Agent Forbes, etc) before she leaves Dan.

There's a bit more to the Prison Break sequence, at least showing their escape.

There's more to both Mars sequences, I believe.

I believe there are some additional bits with The Minutemen, including some more credits sequence stuff.

And the Watchmen meeting scene is probably a bit longer aswell.

^ i hope so we practically saw the whole scene online i wish that was longer it was too short imo

also Laurie getting kicked out of Rockefeller military center was filmed aswell

i hope some more prison stuff with long

Wouldn't that be the same thing? I suppose we technically don't see the cop die, but I suspect that would be likely to be a fatal injury. Not that I'm an expert in such things.

I know Rorschach's "Evil must be punished" line was cut. Also the "Justice matters" and "Justice is coming to all of us..." was cut. So tjose scenes.

And the Rorschach jamming his finger into the cop's windpipe was in the Hayter draft.
