As noted on Mastodon by LittleAlex, Kurtz was the Chief Technology Officer of security firm McAfee when, in April 2010, that firm sent an update that deleted a crucial Windows XP file that caused widespread outages and required system-by-system file repair.

Windows is so riddled with holes that companies use third parties with Windows kernel access like CrowdStrike to protect them. Crowdstrike itself is also an attack vector for private hackers and state hackers to gain access to lots of global infrastructure through Windows.
