I have faith in the "people", not the "government"...

Greece fed off of Socialism for too many years, "full on Socialism", was its demise.

I agree with this. It's one reason why Ron Paul's support amongst college students gives me optimism. College students are willing to get passionate about a guy whose message is one of individual responsibility, not someone offering to take care of them.

Ron Paul has passion and he doesn't mess with political grandstanding. And he actually preaches fiscal conservatism - not the Paul Ryan budget.

I guess I should have included, a calm demeanor, to offset the fire/mud coming from the Obama campaign.

Ron Paul doesn't have that.....I like Ron Paul, but he will never be elected as President....not because he shouldn't or couldn't be President, that is just how it is....

He very well would have my vote.

I don't necessarily disagree. But I do think every vote he gets is an important victory for the country.

I mean even larger than the economic crisis we have today is the state of modern politics that has seen politicians thrive by saying nothing. Every vote for Ron Paul is a vote for substance.

Can't disagree with that...

Given the demographics, I have no faith at all.

It is far too easy to point out the benefits of spending on something, than to show consequences of spending. It's far too easy to show the consequences of cutting back something, than to show the converse. People prefer the short term.

You probably saw the story of the USDA plate. Yea this cost 2 million dollars.

Wait...

Peas aren't vegetables? My mind is literally blown.

you know I think I posted the wrong image, legumes should be protein

I know this is random but...

The CBS Evening News showed Sarah Palin inside the National Archives tonight looking at the 'Declaration of Independce' for Memorial Day.

What I find interesting is that the National Archives specifically forbids anyone to take pictures while viewing any of the documents because of the potential damage the flashes can cause to the documents...yet here is a picture of Palin inside the gallery looking into the 'Declaration' case..

Maybe they didn't use the flash. And was it a picture her team took, or the reporters took?

I'm honestly not sure. Regardless, it was a photo-op in a place that bans people from taking pictures with the threat of 'being tossed from the building'.

Edit: I just read an article that says the National Archives will still allow 'news media and professional photographers' to take pictures with a certain permit. Palin is neither. It just bugs me.

It is very possible that no flash was used....

I have a digital camera and I can take perfectly good well-lit photos without a flash sometimes.

I'm sure there was plenty of natural lighting in there....

Palin is just "visiting" monuments and important national documents where the press can watch her from a distance and take photos with her, but are not allowed to as questions? I wonder if eye contact is forbidden too. :whatever:

I am putting myself back in the "she's not running" camp. This is a stupid publicity stunt where she will milk the last ounce of attention before her followers move on to trying to pick a real leader. Though given they follow her, I doubt their judgement for the most part.

I don't think she's running either...but if she is...this little cross country tour is genius. She gets tons of free press, she calls the shots when and where the media speaks with her....whoever thought this up, IF SHE IS RUNNING, made a very good call.

The free press alone is a money maker...

Palin is completely un-electable. Thank god.

Because the lord asked for her personally.... Michelle Bachmann and her 28 children are entering the Presidential race.

Michelle Bachmann: "Well, every decision that I make I pray about as does my husband and I can tell you, yes, I've had that calling and that tugging on my heart that this is the right thing to do and because it's such a momentous decision, not only for myself, my husband and our 28 children, it is a momentous decision what ideas will I bring to bear? What are the resources that I have to marshal in terms of people, assets, the message and also the finances, the amount of time this will take, what this will mean for the nation? Am I the right person for the job?"

1) To answer your last question... No, you're not the right person for the job. I'm not even sure you're the "right person" to be a fry-cook at McDonalds.

2) 28 children?! Is that a typo or was 27 just not enough?

No, it 28 children...he's been stroking...a lot.

Sarah Palin's bus tour makes me sick. That's all I really have to say this morning...
