In a letter to shareholders, Disney's Robert A. Iger has revealed this first photo from Pixar's WALL• E, opening in theaters in June of 2008. The letter stated:

We're also excited about Pixar's next animated movie, Ratatouille, which will be released this summer. And I'm pleased to give you an exclusive first look at the title character of their next movie, WALL• E (pictured here), which will be released the following year.

Academy Award®-winning director Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo) helms the animated film.

It hasn't been revealed enough.
WTF is it?

Robots 2: Electric Boogaloo

Short Circuit 3?

It's a robot, obviously. :o

The background appears to be almost dreary and post-apocolyptic, so it could be a sci-fi type film, as Pixar has yet to tread that area.

Maybe it's about a Mars rover?

At least it isn't another talking animal... :)

I wonder who they'll get to voice him. Probably someone you wouldn't expect. It would be hilarious if it was George Clooney or somebody.

Why can't we see something darker and more serious? Instead of talking animal and cute robot CGI films?

read that yesterday. Sounds like if they do it well it could be the best pixar movie to date. I love the idea of the first third of the movie being virtually devoid of all dialogue but im just not sure how well it will be perceived by the public.

I just can't see kids sitting through a 2 hour + movie (as most Pixar movies are, now) in which the first third is pretty quiet and silent. WALL-E, the main character, doesn't even talk.

I personally love the idea but i think it will be tough for kids to actually grasp the weight of the film and may find it boring.

I called it when I said somewhat post-apocolyptic. Who's da man?

It still kind of sucks that he wont' be speaking. It works in a short, but a full length movie...audiences don't have the attention span for that. I still say George Clooney needs to voice him.
