Disney+

Does any one known if the plant of the Apes movies are going to be on Disney+? They are fox and of course Disney bought fox. Also ice age movies? I own all but the last ice age movie has I like them. The last 3 planet of the apes movies I love and the very first original one back from like late 60's was great. I have not really seen 2-5 of the old ones but I would like to see them and see like how Cersia is in the old ones compare to the new ones when it comes to how he acts.

I really liked Noelle and I really liked Anna Kendrick also. Anna's bubbly personality and even how she portrayed her sadness is what made the movie in my opinion. I also have to say I love Snowcone. Where is my plush Snowcone Disney? Tell me now! If not your going on Santa's naughty list.

Overall I'm very happy with Disney Plus. Is there movies and shows I wish was on there right now, yes but I'm willing to give them a chance to grow and add things along the way.

I don't believe they've announced plans for any of those movies. I'd imagine with the Fox movies it's a matter of waiting for existing licenses to expire and then deciding whether they are better fits for Hulu or Disney+. Like, obviously the Alien franchise will never go to Disney+. The Ice Age and Apes franchises feel like they could make it there, though.

They should put all Fox's catalogue there. Its confusing that they have Avatar and the Simpsons in D+... but not the other Fox films/shows. All foXMarvel films should be there as well. They should have included Fox's logo alongside the others in the Marketing which could have helped them more and D+ would be a lot stronger. Look at what Peacock/Hbo Max are doing. They aren't splitting their library into 2 streaming services. In which tab do Avatar and the Simpsons even appear in because they are obviously not Disney/Pixar/Marvel/Star Wars/Nat Geo?

Disney can keep the R rated stuff in Hulu for now.. but 2 streaming services from 1 company don't really make sense in the long run especially when a lot of movies from other studios are leaving Hulu because of Peacock/Hbo Max.

I also noticed that the Abc shows are excluded as well. I'm guessing they are gonna keep them under Hulu.

The more you bundle various content, the more extreme the differences can be market to market because of licensing deals for a library. This makes it harder to gain global traction. The brand-specific nature of Disney + makes it easier to scale globally because 1) they are all global brands, 2) they can price accordingly, and 3) it likely affords them more time with consumers until licences expire. The price point is certainly attractive and it allows Disney to not over-spend on content creation to the degree others will have to. It's the perfect scenario for the less is more approach.

In terms of library and Fox content, more and more will be added as the plans for Hulu become more clear and various licensing deals expire.

Makes sense for them not having the FoX-Men movies on there for a while. Let the public forget so the MCU X-Men can be fresh.

Well not everybody can / will sign up for various streaming services. Like I said, Warned Bros and Universal don't intend to split their own catalogue. Why should Disney? Disney+ already have a kids safety option which should block r rated/mature content.

Also Hulu isn't even available outside North America whichis another issue.thing is if you are gonna include Fox stuff in Disney+, might as well put all Fox stuff under 1 umbrella, instead of cherry picking shows/movies. Instead,of telling customers to sign up for a bundle or another streaming service if certain Fox movies/shows aren't in D+.

As for foX-Marvel movies, they've categorized which are MCU stuff and which aren't mcu, in the Marvel page. Its not gonna confuse people if they keep it that way.

It's a bundle option by choice, for customers and by Disney. People are cutting cords because of forced cable bundles, so their rationale is not to make them pay more for a combined service under one umbrella. It gives both user and provider great flexibility and pricing power. That is actually a benefit to people who want more options. It can give either service great add-on value as well to the more expensive platforms. This is what makes it interesting because we'll see how the strategies play out.

Hulu will be international at some point, but like HBO MAX and Peacock, it will be more difficult to have a global impact because of the model of selling a library (however great) and mainly untested content (and needed localized content) vs. a service built on specific (global) brands. This is where the Disney + (likely) international base will be key in terms of leverage. In five years time when the field inevitably thins out and we know who the key players are, I could see the 'survivors' using the greater piece of the pie to consolidate content/or services into the more traditional 'bundle' we've seen through cable, and more content creators shifting to being sellers, Without the cost of cable of course, which is why success internationally is essential.

Makes sense. I think those would more likely end up on Hulu

Watched the first part of The Imagineering Story documentary mini series. It's great!

I'd like to see a "Most Viewed of the Week" feature. Would be interesting to see which films and shows are being streamed. Avengers: Endgame and The Mandalorian are probably top 2 right now but I bet live action Lady & The Tramp is at least in the top 5 or 10

It's a double edged sword. Yes, they're reporting on the ones that people are watching, but since it's their company as well, they'd be reporting on their "bombs" as well, or the stuff people don't care about.

It's why Netflix picks and chooses what "numbers" they report.

Well they don't have to show any bombs If it's just a top 5 or 10. Although I guess it's kinda a risky issue if the most popular streams are stuff like Marvel and Star Wars but actual disney produced stuff like from the vault is among the bottom.

How many episodes is Imagineering Story going to have? I'm hooked on it and especially after how episode 3 ended

Six episodes.

They added the “continue watching/resume” feature.

my PS4 downloaded update 1.17 when I booted it up just now.

I went to Boy Meets World and at the top of the shows page it had a link for S3:E8 which is right where I left off.

Thank goodness!

When does Disney Plus add new content? If it's been discussed I totally missed it.

This is the advantage of streaming sites. There's no Nielsen releasing low ratings/viewings.

Well Coco's being added on Friday, while Garfield and Glory Road are being added Sunday, so I don't think there's a set "update day" or anything. Things just get added when they can be added.

Original shows like Mandolorian and Imagineering story add a new episode on Friday’s.

For movies that are there but not available it depends on when their contract runs out on other streaming platforms. (Mighty Ducks 1-3 is on that list for me)

the latest I’ve seen is 2021
