Fantasy Disney's "Gargoyles" movie?

Jordan Peele is interested in directing and pitched the movie to Disney. It’s sounds like Disney doesn’t want to do it.

”How do you turn down Jordan Peele? Well, you can’t. Who wants to be responsible for that decision? So in the absence of a good reason to say no, but prevented by their Big IP box from saying yes, Disney is slow walking the decision. If Peele took the pitch himself to Disney, that's a big deal considering all the free opportunities he has. It's a huge part of my childhood too (I religiously played the board game which came with one of the VHS tapes).

Shame Disney is so gun-shy about it. Not everything has to fit the child-like wondrous fantasies their slate has been recently. Fans of Gargoyles are in their late 20s and 30s now, I doubt they're in that demographics anymore.

Gargolyes has no credited creator, and Disney isn't one to not own something they put on.

I grew up on the reruns of this and it was one of the coolest shows of my childhood. I would love from something like this to happen, Peele being involved would be an added bonus.

Greg Weisman handled most of it. He's on Twitter right now saying he'd love to work on a new one if Peele wanted, and Disney is full **** basically regarding the rights.

As far as casting, Paula Patton as Eliza Masa has been my choice for a minute.

I have been craving a Gargoyles movie for years now. For the love of god, please let this happen and Disney better not attempt to make it lighthearted to appease the masses. Keep the dark, dramatic tone of the original show.
