Disney's Tangled

Went to go see this today with a female friend that needed to shop on Black Friday. :o

It was actually pretty well done, and is basically what a 2D version of Rapunzel should have been, but the CG worked. Mother Knows Best song = :awesome:

I believe that's what Disney were trying to go for, basically a 2D animated film converted to 3D animated.

My wife loved it, my daughter was terrified, I fell asleep.

If they were going for an old-school 2D Disney flick converted to 3D, then I think they succeeded. I haven't seen a regular (read: non-Pixar) Disney movie that felt that timeless in a long time. Of course, I'm sure having Alan Menken doing the music instead of Randy Newman helped in that department, even if this wasn't his most memorable work by far. Overall, the movie wasn't in the league of their 90's glory days, but it was better than what I've come to expect from them, and certainly an enjoyable way to spend an hour-and-a-half.

I was skeptic at first when they're doing this movie in CGI, but it worked out well I have to say. The movie was great in terms that it often felt like a throwback to the best Disney features from the Disney's Renaissance era. Now for the songs it probably won't be memorable but I still enjoy it. And I love Maximus, just hilarious. :woot:

4/5

This was a great movie. Felt like a Disney movie from the 90's that should have been hand drawn animation, classic really. Catchy songs and beautiful animation.

gonna see this with my goddaughter tomorrow..really excited about the movie

Box Office Mojo says the budget for this was $260 million. Tell me that's a typo.

I don't think so considering that the movie has been in development for six years and at one point, every work that was done was scrapped and they restart the process and also changing the director to the now current directors.

when yo uknow the whole story then the budget doesnt look big.

I saw it yesterday, I really liked it, of course Max the horse and Pascal the chameleon stole the movie without ANY dialog (I like Pascal more than Max :hehe: ). I forgot how good a singer Mandy is, and I did not know who played her 'mom' till I saw the credits. I kept saying "she sounds like Bebe Neuwirth to me" :p. Oh and props to Zach Levi as the main lead did know that was him singing with Rapunzel in the boat till I saw the end credits.

Even taking into account the prologue, main epic story and epilogue it's still a ridiculous amount for an animated film.

loved it, loved it...LOVED IT

Mother Knows Best :)

Saw it today. It was very good, but I wish they'd done the traditional animation for it instead. I saw it in 3D because I had a free pass, but it definitely doesn't need to be seen in 3D.

And the horse was my favorite character. :funny:

In the last scene I wanted to see the two of them getting married. It's the only thing my father thought was missing from the film. Also I love the way everything looks so organic.

Saw this last week. Brilliant. Loved it so much.

Mother Gothel = my love.

I think everybody has a Mother Gothel as a relative, co-worker or a teacher.

He meant the whole story behind the movie. It spent a long time in Development Hell, and started out being made as an entirely different film, with different animation, different voice actors, etc. Then it was basically thrown out and rebooted. Lots of money went down the drain. So taking all that into account, $260 million doesn't sound SO bad.

It's the Superman Returns of animated films.

didnt an early trailer for this have rapunzels hair acting like tentacles? i swear i remember seeing that and being disappointed but i saw the movie and she had regular (albeit super long) hair
