Sequels Do we want Sam Raimi back for SM4?

All right everyone, I know a lot of the hardcore fans are pissed off for a number of reasons due to Spider-Man 3, but let's step back and take a look at he bigger picture here.

Sam Raimi is not just making these films for the fans. He's making them for the general public of the whole world. Before the Spider-Man films started coming out, how many people did you know that were Spider-Man fans? How many people do you know now that are Spider-Man fans because of the movies? If you asked me, Raimi's Spider-Man films have increased the fan-base exponentially. Which is no small task and is definately worth some recognition.

Looking at all three of the films together as a trilogy, do we want Sam Raimi back to direct Spider-Man 4? I say YES! There's billions and billions of people throughout the world. It is impossible for any one person to please them all - especially all of the hardcore fans. Whether you liked the Spider-Man movies or not, look at how many more people are Spider-Man fans now because of Sam Raimi's efforts!

As fans, we need to stop being so incredibly hard on this guy for any little thing that we don't like. He's not just trying to please us - he's trying to please the whole world! So let's cut the guy some slack and give him the credit he deserves. To date, he has made the best super-hero trilogy ever - and that is no small feat. I say Raimi for SM4!

I think if Sam wants back you give it to him, cause he has done nothing short of a excellent job, and supehero movies, action movies, and summer movies every where owe him their soul for giving the possiblity of class to their films

but he if lingers beyond like a year

like say if they wanna get it out by 2010 and he lingers past the point where this is possibley you get someone new, but i do want sam

I just want more spidey movies, more than I want to wait around for him, but he is the master as far as i am concerned

I'd say no. Theres no way he'll do 3 more films and Sony wants another trilogy.

I'd rather we keep a new consistent director for these new films than keep Raimi (who will leave after 4) and then try to replace him then........It will screw things up.

Loved the the trilogy as a whole, but its time to let someone else have a go.
God I wish Guilermo Del Toro would do the next Spider-Man movies.

I wouldnt mind it either way if Raimi came back or if they got a new director.

However if Raimi does come back, the studio and the producers should just leave him the hell alone and let him do what he wants for the movies.

...i definitely want him back at least as producer, but i'm not so sure i want him back as director. Spidey 1 was great, Spidey 2 was fantastic, but 3 is a mess. it feels like he's getting tired/running out of steam and i don't want him making another Spidey film unless he feels 100% about it.

at this point i wanna see someone fresh take over with Raimi as producer...

Well I don't want sony to do a schumaker on this beloved franchise, if they bring on another director I say they bring someone that loves and respects the characters and that wants to do a good story first and foremost. I think and feel that maybe raimi has had his share of spidey. If he's gonna do part 4 then he has to put everything into it as he has done so far and I know that if he doesn't have the passion to do it he won't do it. But the thing I want more than anything else is that the studio and arad or whomever produces let the director(raimi or not) realize their vision and stop sticking their noses even if its on behalf of the fans.

I think they should give someone else passionate about the character a shot. I'm tired of Peter still being a goofy dork and I don't see Sam changing this about him any time soon. Someone could also maybe develop MJ to start to go party and stuff because of the pressure of dating Spidey and try to releave the stress of it in wild late nights of dancing/drinking.

Funny... whichever Harry Potter movie came out after Chris Columbus left I remember liking less... I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan, I've never read the books, but I've seen all the movies, and if you ask me the quality of those is slowly declining...

I want to see him handle the Lizard and Peter/MJ getting married with Tobey and Kirsten. After three movies and tons of set-up I don't want to see Shai LeBoueff and Mandy Moore be theo nes "at the top of a hill" at the end of SM4.

The truth is, it's MONEY that's going to decide if Raimi/Tobey/Kirsten returns. If SM3 continues to do well at the box office (at least better than SM2 worldwide), then Sony's going to hire them back. But the movie still needs new blood, be it director, writer(s), producers(s) or actors(s). And if they decide on a new director, let Raimi serve as a producer.

I wouldn't mind if Raimi returned, but only if the main villain was THE LIZARD, if they go any other route, then a new director should be used. I'm thinking SM4 needs to be a smaller film then SM3, less expensive and more creative.

Spider-Man 2 whas fine,not better then the first movie,but because of Dr. Otto Octavius don't die i having a empty feeling.

Of course there don't let hem die because there want let him return and mabey the final movie with Raimi is the good time.
