Sometimes I just feel like, "Eh, there's nowhere to go." Facebook is just bleh, YouTube isn't all that anymore, Reddit doesn't seem that interesting, Pinterest is just like "Hey, let's click on some pics!", IMDB is just a giant database, I have no money to buy anything on Amazon or eBay, I don't tweet. Where should I go? Where should I go?

Here?

*sings* 'Where everybody knows your name...'

Read a book.

Volunteer at your local hospital.

Help an elderly person with things that need to be done around their house.

Shovel the snow off of your neighbor's sidewalk.

Help feed the homeless.

Paint a picture.

Or....whine that you don't have anything to do.

I'm happy just browsing the same few sites over and over. Sometimes I find a new one but I'm a creature of habit. I do need to try and spend less time on the net and do the things in my life that are more productive though.

Sometimes I do, but then I see Rocketman has posted a new, exciting thread... and somehow I find the strength to get me through another day.

I feel ya, I'm the same way. Sometimes I just obsessively patrol the sites I visit, and refresh just to see if theres anything new. :( lol.

These are things C Lee wants you to do. Now go clean his walk, read him a book when he goes to the hospital, make him a steak dinner, do his housework and paint him a picture,

Back in my day we walked 15 miles to dial up!

At least someone cares about me.....tears in my eyes, lump in my throat.....

The internet is so corperate now.
I miss when my parents werent on it and when there werent so much ads and comercialism.
Whats left of it is good for getting ideas out there.
But I miss when the internet was cool, now any **** heel is on it censoring and trolling it.

It's the homogenization of the internet. Back in the day there were dozens of great sites and forums dedicated to every topic imaginable. Each had its own perspective, its own flavor, and its own community. After the rise of "social networking" though, many of those unique places were gradually abandoned in favor of **** like Facebook and Reddit.

I went back to some old forums I used to post on, and it was just sad. The sites were still up and functional, but everyone was just gone. The most recent news post was from 2010, and the most recent forum post was from 2012, and as far as I can tell the forums were damn near dead enough for a couple of years prior to that.

It was like driving through a totally abandoned neighborhood. The buildings are still are up, the lights are still on, but no one's home.

If Facebook, Reddit, Pinterest, YouTube, IMDB, eBay, Amazon is the length and breadth of your internet experience, then it's all on you, not the internet of today. So many things to see, do and learn on the interweb -- if you only look.

I must admit since I quit facebook well over a year ago the Internet does seem a lot more boring, I mainly just go on this site, occasionally youtube and check movie news. There's times when I'm bored on my break at work, decide to browse the Internet then realise there's nothing new to look at. It seems like social networking is the main thing to do and that doesn't interest me, any socialising I want to do I do in the real world.

Then perhaps try to expand on what you're looking for. Like others above have said, there's a ton of stuff out there. There's a lot more than just social media.

I am sure there is plenty of things on the interwebs happening, but, I just never know where to look anymore, and find my self just contently checking the same hand full of bookmarked sites for updates

most site just keep recycling the same information anyway

I've never used Reddit, Tumblr, Pinterest. Had a Twitter account for a bit, same with Instagram. Meh. I like Facebook. I think at times, all the unadulterated input can be a bad thing but Facebook is like my one stop shop for news about just, everything I could ever be interested in. I did quit for about 3 months last year. It was nice. But boring as hell and I hardly ever talked to anybody. I'm not much on real world socializing these days. People are ***** and really stupid, generally speaking. When I socialize in real life it's with a minuscule amount of people. If I wanna meet or talk to new people, I meet them like anybody else does. In the real world. I just don't seek it out.

I get bored by social media and other diversionary content too, but I'm never bored by what the net has to offer in terms of learning. I picked up basic web designing to better communicate to the designers and marketers I work with, the basics of PS and creative suite software to jazz up my presentations, and conversational Korean because I like my Korean entertainment, which has proven useful in small talk when I meet Korean clients.

Yea, that's the greatest thing about the internet. You can literally learn and educate yourself on any subject you want to. I get lost for hours researching different things out of nothing but curiosity.

You mean do things that involve you to.... go outside.....

Facebook stopped being cool because all of our parents and family members got profiles too, and demanded that we friend them. So now we can't post inappropriate statuses or pictures of us drunk at parties. I want to write insanely horrific things on Facebook, but my girlfriend's mom, or my girlfriend's cousin, or my mom, or my aunt's-friend's-cousin's-brother's-mother are going to get all ******** about it, so then I'll get approached in town and be asked if I'm some terrible gay sadist. And god forbid, if your mom gets Facebook, you BETTER friend her or it's "What, you're too ashamed to be my friend? You don't love me? Are you embarrassed?" - It's like, **** you.
