we still call that tomato sauce... there are some brands that have sell a darker "ketchup" but it's not all that popular - nor is it that different to other labels of tomato sauce. For everything like chips, sausages, hot dogs, pies etc we just use tomato sauce, or occasionally bbq sauce. Obviously we don't use the same type of tomato sauce that we would use on pizzas or pasta.
i think you're confused, just cause your tin says "beans in a tomato sauce" it doesn't mean that it is the only possible style of tomato sauce globally...
again, not meaning to be rude, but when it comes to what is it's correct name in "English" I'm gonna stick with what the brits call it, having invented the language an all...
