I liked him in the animated series but by the time it got to Justice League Unlimited he looked too big in his chest, it just didn't look right. I love the show and all but also his attitude didn't seem quite right.

I was watching JLU recently and something about him didn't seem "Superman" enough for me.

Yeah, I quite liked TAS Superman, because it was done in the style as TAS Batman.

I never liked the stylized caveman jaw line of Supes with his beety little eyes, I wish there would be a new version with realistically animated humans like the 80's G.I.Joe.

Ooh. That'd be cool too!

I think it's time for a Superman cartoon, that looks more serious like the comic artwork of Dan Jurgens or something like that. And a good cartoon on par with TAS.

I've always had a problem with Timm's superman design's face - especially the way it looks in profile. It's got this weird f'd up chin.

Alex Ross designed a, to my mind, MUCH better looking version that appears in his Mythology book. It was for a STAS comic book he was going to do but never did.

It's quite similar but there's just something about it that's much better, and it looks "right" in profile. I sooo wish that this was the design Timm came up with.

It also looks a tad more like the Fleischer version.

There's another page of sketches in the book but I can't find them online.

I also prefer this version of Timm's that he didn't use:

No that would suck too, just look at my avatar of my man Flint to see a real chiseled guy.
