Green is my favorite color, so I do have a bias there. But when you compare it to the blue, the green is just so much more vibrant. Plus, it's green, yo.

Green.
The green looked more vibrant because it had the best tech by far. But the blue sabers of the prequels killed the green sabers in term of vibrancy.

After seeing the plethora of colors in the EU I was always disappointed that almost all the Jedi in the PT had either blue or green sabers. I mean, those are iconic colors but kinda boring when you see a whole army of them.

I have a feeling we may see different colors. Even though it was concept art and easily could be changed there was a yellow/orange lightsaber in once piece for TFA.

We did have yellow in TCW and now we will have pure white in Rebels.

Green's my favorite color too, Trav. Green sabers FTW!

In general, blue > green. In terms of lightsabers, Luke's green 'saber (specifically) > the rest.

Purple... 'nuff said.
All your arguments are now invalid.

As for the saber, I have heard something that sounded VERY convincing. It was from my Philosophy teacher of all people, he went on this long explanation on why that saber is so awesome. (He spent like half an hour of our class time. XD) He is NOT one to make stuff up, he is one to know a lot about something I did not even know it was possible to know so much about... like star wars.
He claimed that there was a sabre that was like that one long ago. It was held by some very powerful guy who turned dark or was on the dark side to begin with. The name escapes me... though if someone told me I might remember. Basically the guy was the most powerful of anyone. I tried searching the internet and found nothing... all I found were a few different people who wielded cross-guard sabres. Apparently the lightsaber is some sort of relic. He also stated a bunch about how luke is now super powerful, so powerful rocks shake around him, and he has to go into hiding for most of the movie.

I can't really give evidence for this, because I don't know where he got all the info. But I know for sure my teacher was serious and thought this was for sure true. I'm posting this mainly to see if anyone knows what I'm talking about, maybe this is true but you haven't thought about it being that way? I want to see if this reminds anyone of anything. It of course could possibly be a theory of his that he thought for sure must be what the movie will be, and his theory ends up being incorrect, but at least the character and relic he talked about must be something in the comics or books or whatever.

What do you think about the saber being some sort of relic?

We've had a few discussions about how it might be an ancient relic or artifact of some kind. It definitely has a kind of a dark ages/medieval feel to it that I think lends some weight to that theory.

In general, blue > green. In terms of lightsabers, Luke's green 'saber (specifically) > the rest.

This.

I wouldn't mind the rare yellow saber. I've been waiting for a yellow saber in the saga since they used to sell them that way when I was a kid.Never sure why they did that instead of making them blue.

cyan >>> chartreuse. Seriously, somebody should come up with a gray lightsaber, for guys/gals that are half good/half bad. So sick & n tire of the red = evil motif. It's been overdone...

I don't mind the new cross guard type of look. A little impractical, but I won't let that detract from the design. Never looked dumb to me, like others have said.

As for colors, I don't mind seeing more for Jedi, but I just can't get around Sith using anything other than red. It's...perfect.

The recent trailer made me a believer. Hallelujah!

Crude as all hell, which is good. Still need to see it in action (read: duel) with all 3 blades to see what they're doing with it.

So an ancient 'saber that he's hot wired into working, that's what I get from it. And it's beautiful.

YES definitely, It remind me of the old version of baton and the latest one !
