Do you prefer the leadership role in life, or the follower role?

They called us all in for a meeting Friday remarking that our team leader was getting moved up, and discussed the requirements for any of us if we wish to take on the mantle of team leader once he's gone. Some were interested, such as myself being one, others were like, "man, I wouldn't want that job. I could never have fun anymore, I have to do more responsible stuff(basically all they do now is chat up clients and act goofy when not doing so)." I don't mind following if someone's suggestion or plan works, but I would prefer to go the leader route, as I think I'm just more individualistic like that. You more the former or the latter?

I prefer to take instruction.
I've been in the leadership position and I haven't got the patience for people that don't want to listen or fail to communicate. Plus no one can do it better than myself so delegation is a problem for me. :cwink: Also in my career it's very difficult to get a team of guys to take direction from a woman.
I like to run free as well, can't do that when a building has a dead line.
Follower,all the way.

If I **** up, it's no one else's fault. It's solely mine.

If I was a "team leader", I'd not only be held responsible for my **** ups, but the **** ups of others.

I don't play that.

I have come to the conclusion that in order to be a leader. You have to be a a**hole. I don't like being a-hole.

I guess I'd say leader. But only because I don't want to be a follower. I just like serving as a good example to others.

I'm nobody's b!tch.

Both positions have their ups and downs. If you follow than when the leader is instructing poorly there is little you can do about it. But if you're leading you have more responsibility but have to put up with idiots not doing their job properly. I've been in both, and at the current moment I'd rather be the leader because the manager where I work is a flake and it's frustrating me. I'm sure I'd be frustrated about being management but at least it wouldn't be this aggravation.

Ew, I hate teams.

I'm the disgruntled loner.

I usually mumble somewhere by my mself.

"HEY, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING OVER THERE!!?

Me: Uh...Nothing**** you you stuck cock sucking mother****er

WHAT WAS THAT!!??

me: Oh, I didn't say anythingeat my **** and die mother ****er":cmad:

Definitely leader. It's much more work, but it's far more fufilling.

I'd prefer to be neither and I tend to live my life in that way, going my own way. But when I have to choose, I naturally tend to want to lead.

In team work, I'm the one that initially picks the following role but eventually take over because of big-mouth syndrome and need to control everything. Not to mention I'm highly opinionated and will argue with anyone who disagrees so I guess leader.

You have perhaps the best avatar ever created in the history of the internet.

I follow. Never liked taking charge, don't like the responsibility.

I tend to follow, but if I'm with a bunch of idiots who don't do their part, I'll stick up and take control... :o

hmmm... i don't think i can be classified as either.
i don't know, i don't believe in "following" anybody but i CERTANLY don't believe in people following me.
i'm more of an indipendant.
but if it were "follow me if you want to live" kind of deal, i would be in a leadership position.
if they can't keep up that's their fault.

even if someone else has a WAY better idea on how to live...like say...smearing cold mud on yourself?

hmm. good point.
and although that MAY keep the skin firm along with keeping the terminators censors or predators from recognizing your body heat, i would still NOT want to be the follower.
plus, i would totally have that idea first, that's why i'm the boss.:o

how do you know you'd have the idea first?

surely it depends on the company you're with. cause as soon as i hear the words aliens/killer robot/zombies i'd instantly have atleast 12 plan to combat each. most of them would involve the pub somehow but still...12 plans...

because as you can tell, i grew up in the 80's and have a natural instinct for those very same movies and have too concocted a way to combat said foes.
so clearly i would have the idea first.
