As do I. I get away with quite a bit of slacking, yet I still finish all my tasks...I'm that good lol.
Me too.

Tomorrow, regardless of if my TL is in or not, I'm gonna take it upon myself to do call evaluations.
I dunno... some *******.
I sell cars for a living. When we're between customers, we're very relaxed at work. Sometimes we toss a football across the lot. Tonight we did some hacky sack. Sometimes we go across the street to the competing dealership and deflate their giant inflated gorilla that they have facing us and taunting us.
And what sort of giant inflated thing do you have facing and taunting them?
It's hard to slack off at Walgreens.

Dude, that placed killed my soul. I'm so happy I got out of there when I did. I would have gone a massive killing spree.
My boss is a VP, and easily the best boss I've ever had the pleasure of working for.
I, myself, have a team of 86 people, and likewise I'm the best boss many people on my team have ever had. I guess it sort of goes with the territory - we all thoroughly enjoy what we do for a living (making video games).
As to slacking, I manage/produce several large development projects. As long as the people on my team meet their deadlines and integrate/cooperate well with each other through *collaborative* work habits, I'm extremely hands off. I give the managers on my team a tremendous amount of bandwidth and freedom to make decisions and lead their respective groups, and for that they are truly appreciative, and this also manifests itself in a very positive way to their people. Leadership by example.
At the present time, I can honestly say I've never had a finer team of people working with me. It's an amazing thing when you actually get up in the morning and look forward to getting into work!
I must say that is very commendable and you seem (as described by you in this post) as I professional to be admired.
