Three categories:

1. Eating with friends, for fun.

2. Just enjoying the meal.

3. Romantic dinner.

Do you prefer music or silence in those categories?

When I'm eating with friends, I tend to enjoy music. It doesn't matter what genre, as long as it's just background atmosphere.

If I want to really focus on something I've cooked and enjoy the meal. I prefer it to be silent. To soley and 100% reflect on what mistakes I've made or what I've done well to be a better cook.

For me, it's more romantic in silence. So for a romantic dinner, no barry white, no violin. Just talk.

Wait, so talk = silence?

So, silence means...no music?

I want music and talking during all 3 categories, but no one should talk with their mouth's full....that's just nasty.

*sighs*.....shakes head.

I hate the sound of anyone chomping on food so I would prefer silence or extremely loud music while others are eating.

(1) Lots of talking
(2) Probably quiet
(3) Talking so that it isn't awkward

I never listen to music while eating. I either watch tv or I'm talking (in between bites) with other people

If someone smacks their lips while eating with me, I won't eat with them again.

No one is even allowed to look at me while I eat.

I bet your dating life is rich and full....

I don't mind music or watching TV while eating. But I sure as hell won't talk to anyone while I'm eating

When I'm eating, I'm usually at home in front of the tube..or with friends, yakking it up. Well, more often they yak and I eat..then they accuse me of being a fast eater. I say, no you guys just talk too much. lol

I find it very odd when people eat in silence ,there is always something to talk about ,and as for my mistakes when I cook I let my friends/family tell me. Music is good either live or just elevator music or just none at all doesn't effect me.

I like the occasional romantic meal with my wife but most of the time, I just want to eat in peace so I can move on to something else.

I don't expect life to stop for food. Conversations better continue in full force - even if you have food in your mouth.

no, rather eat amongst people I like being around or a television.
