Do you take games TOO seriously?Why?

Kid's don't go outside anymore.

I blame Apple.

Which is sad, my friends and I played a good amount of video games growing up in the NES/SNES/Genesis days, but also spent plenty of time outside. I couldn't imagine spending all day inside as a kid, I sure as hell won't let my kids do that. Playing video games or watching TV is fine as long as it's balanced with physical activities.

I think what the OP meant is the general behaviour of hardcore gamers in generals...not just while playing online games, but on forums etc.

It's all part of what being a 'fanboy' really is. You see this with hardcore comicfans, moviefans and whatever else. And yeah..it is kind of an annoying behaviour. There's nothing wrong with a normal'debate'about the things you love...but with these people,most times it's : 'OH.MY.GOD...i've been playing this game for 900 hours, and i just noticed that the texture of the leaves isn't green enough! i hate this game now!. it's broken!

Or..

'OH MY GOD...i just finished this RPG game, level 100, got all the weapons, max health blabla...and now fighting is somehow easier...i don't get it...it's broken!'

...or a variations thereof.

These people can really turn nit picking into an art form. In that, i agree with the OP.

I agree to an extent. My childhood was spent roaming my neighborhood with my friends. Riding bikes, playing sports, sneaking into places we shouldn't etc. However i realize not everyone has that opportunity. Some kids grow up in areas where it isn't safe to be outside or dont have neighborhoods to ride bikes in. I mean sure there are other means of activity(rec sports leagues etc), but sometimes its not as easy as saying "go play outside".

Well yeah, that's why I plan on making sure I'm in a position to move to an area where kids can safely play outside before I have kids. I grew up in both areas as a kid in Chicago, when I started Jr. High my parents moved to the sububs where we could ride bikes, play sports, sneak into place we shouldn't etc.. Before that though we lived in the city, where it was very good block, bad block, my parents signed me up for rec sports leagues and stuff, but there was no way they'd let me wander around on my own. Living in both places, the suburbs is definitely a better place to raise kids and if you have the means you should definitely move.

Yea id deff agree with that. I live in the city now while i go to school and while its not bad per se, deff wouldn't want to raise any kinds there. But none of that is even on my mind any way.
