Just some thoughts:

Personally, I still want the old Jim Henson-man-in-suit costumes along with some CGI thrown in, but they're making a full CGI-made movie and it's supposed to be as dark as the old comics but still having that oldschool humor of the classics.

I am dissapointed with the total CGI approach. I could see CGI Turtles and Splinter but everything in CGI? I'm not crazy about that, but I love anything and everything Turtles so I am really excited about this movie. If it keeps the same gritty feel of the old comics and the original movie then, CGI or not, I will like it.

animatronic/puppets are a dying breed....it would be much more expensive to do these days than say when the first tmnt movie came out.

Also, there are alot more possibilities with cameras and superpower moves ina CGI approach *just look at the new trailer*

Although, I still don't know whether this will be a good movie.....it all depends on how well the story and dialogue is written.....if it's anything like the previous movies then they can forget it. It's funny how many ppl think tmnt 1 is an amazing movie...yeah sure it was in 89 when you were a kid but if you watch it nowadays it's really pretty bad....

I hope that we get a classic TMNT baddie going up against the green team and I would love to see aan updated version of Rat King.

Shredder is main badguy but he was used for the two previous films.

Anyone else suitable since is its all CGI maybe Krang as boss villain would be cool?

No on Krang.
As for the movie itself, hard to say. I liked the TMNT comic but could never really stay interested for long. Same w/the most recent cartoon series. It's so limited that after a while it just becomes repetitive.

I hope it's good. I want it to be, and I'm looking forward to it. I was kind of hoping that they would look how they looked in the original comic book, and less how they looked in the cartoon.

If you listen to the audio from the Comicon panel, Munroe says the execs weren't even too keen on making a new Turtles movie in the first place. Many of them thought the franchise was dead. The attraction of a much cheaper to produce CGI film was a much keener sell, and pretty much helped guarantee we even got a new TMNT movie at all.

They pretty much look like they did in the previous films.
The only real similarity to the cartoon look, IMO, is the different color masks.

I really don't know nearly enough about it to say, but I certainly hope it's good. The teaser trailer really seemed to capture the mood of the first film well, and the CGI was pretty strong, so I'm looking forward to it.

I am very happy with the teaser, and am looking forward to the film. Is this a kind of Batman Begins restart, or are they already established when the movie starts?

The trailer makes Michaelangelo look like a dumbass. I hope that isn't the case throughout the whole movie or I'll be very dissapointed.

Could be cool, hopefully it will perserve the feel of the comic more than the show or previous films.

I just assumed that to be a random joke to pull the whole teaser together. To just assume he's going to be a dumbass in the film simply because of that is...rather odd.

Supposedly it's going to be a sequel to the first two movies. Sorta like SR was.

Don't quote me on this, nor do I remember where I read it, but I read somewhere that it's supposed to followup (timewise) after the third live action fim.

I like the style they're using.

as a major fan of the realistic approach the first movie took, I'm dissapointed in the complete cgi they're doing now. the humans will probably look as freaky as the turtles will and it'll probably be fun and all but lack that special quality only live action can have. I just don't know now whether a shredder-less story is going to appeeal to me either.

I hope it's good but I don't like the CGI approach or the look they have in this movie. Would have much prefered a live action movie in style of the first one which was great in my opinion.

lol i remember these. I used to watch the live action turtles films when i was a kid. My tastes have evolved since then.

Man, nobodys mentioned these films in a decade lol

That's how I see it.

Although animatronics are not used that often, they are still effective as all hell.

Look at Hellboy for example.

Whatever it's CGI or animatronics, they have to get the right people. Compare Jim Henson's work on the first movie to the poop that was done in the third movie.

Compare Davy Jones or Gollum to the likes of the Scorpion King from Mummy Returns.

Mikey has always been the goofy one, from the original comics to the old cartoons and movies, to the new cartoon. To my knowledge, how limited it may seem.

I don't care what people say: You can never ever have the "Original" Ninja Turtles with the grim and violence. You're going to have a blend of both the original comics and their later incarnations. Honesty, I don't mind since I grew up with the 80s cartoons.

The first movie captured both the cartoons and comics rather well.

I think the movie will be good. I would love to see the turtles done live action again, but I guess the CGI will do. I cant wait to see shredder!!!!!! I also hope rocksteady and bebop are in it!!!!

I was never born in the 80s and never saw the movie until about 01 and the movie is one of the better comic films out there today and the most entertain on repeat viewing.

But he was dumb even for Mikey. In the old cartoons he was the comic releif, but in the new cartoons he's...well...an idiot. We can still have fun loving, wisecraking, pizza scarfing, party dude Michaelangelo, but when the whole TMNT railer tries to paint them as bad ass, does he really need to land in a dumpster? How easy people forget that Michaelangelo one the Battle Nexus Championship...twice. Yet, he can't land on his feet...
