...I read somewhere that midway through, Connors became Lizard. I think what was originally going to happen was Doc Octopus went to Connors class to find Peter. He trashed the place, and somehow Connors was exposed to his serum that made him the Lizard.

And at the end, Doc Octopus supposedly would come to his senses and help Spider-Man subdue the Lizard.

Anyone else read/hear that?

He didnt make that up. It is somewhat true, but not really.

The very first draft of the spiderman 1 script, written in the early 90s, was a plot involving the Lizard and Dr. Octopus, and had a plot similar to what was stated. The script sucked horribly though, and was put down. That script has absolutley nothing to do with spiderman 2 though, and im not sure where you heard that it did.

I do know that originally, James Cameron planned on directing a Spidey movie with Arnold as Doc Ock.

Hmmm ...

That would have been as bad, if not exceedingly worse than his portrayal as Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin I would imagine. The idea of a Cameron directed Spidey film is intriguing, but clearly Raimi was the right guy to helm the series if that rumor about casting Arnold (who is obviously completely wrong for the role) as Ock is true.

^I remember that one. The good Doctor liked saying "Okie-Dokie", but it would come out as "Ohkay Dokhae"

There was also one involving Electro and Sandman. One of the two was formally known as Carlton Strand. I believe it was Electro. Thank God it never flew.
