I just wanted to see some reasons, specifically, why people needed the snout.

Please don't delete or merge. I think an extended conversation on this topic could be insightful.

Dear God, a thread about a snout.

Is there no bottom to how low we'll sink?

Just thought I'd post this for anyone who needs another look at it. =P

It bothers me a little, but I can see the reasoning behind it. This version of the Lizard actually looks part human.

People expect the Lizard to have a snout, so I wanted to hear reasons why people felt it was or wasn't a necessity.

Well, Ditko's Lizard didn't have a small snout, and they are taking inspiration from that. Personally, I've always loved the Ditko Lizard's look. I expected him to be more scalely, but I guess they wanted him to look even more human than Ditko's.

^^ There was also that time when some people complaiend that Tobey Maguire's eye color was wrong. It was a stupid complaint, IMO. A VERY stupid one.

Doesnt bother me as much as I thought it would've. I want him in the labcoat and tattered slacks, though!

I think one of the pros to losing the snout is that you can use practical effects which I prefer to fake looking CGI.

I'll give my cons later.

I thought this was a Spider-man film not an unofficial Batman film! He looks too much like Killer Croc with a tail when I first looked at teh pic.

Looks exactly like the dispenser head that everyone was claiming was 'mid-transformation'. What hapened to the snout from the leaked footage..?

^^ RIM said he looks quite different in the actual film than in the concept art.

Isn't it funny how Killer Croc looks more like a Lizard and most interpretations of the Lizard look like an alligator/crocodile?

I thought that he looked like the Pez dispenser too. And still stand by what I said earlier and that I like it. I prefer the more human features to convey some emotion where it will be needed.

Maybe another reason they made his face more human is so that he could talk.

I really hope so, he always did in the comics so i dont see any reason why not in the movies. I'm not expecting some big speeches but at least the ability to construct a few sentences.

I was worried that he wouldn't talk because that's essential, IMO. HE did it in the comics and it made us sympathize with him, so I think it could work on film.

That always bugged me when I was a kid actually. Guess I was just made to post here.

Let me know when you see something that quality in an unofficial film.

I actually like it. Obviously, a scientist turning himself into a giant talking lizard monster isn't feasible no matter how you slice it, but the Ditko-esque design seems more believable for whatever reason.

I like everything in that concept picture with some exceptions:

1) The eyes. While I know that you're supposed to see the human in this creature, I still think the eyes look a little bit too human.

2) The mouth. I'd prefer a whider, more evil grin. Also, the teeth look weird. They look like normal human teeth and not sharp at all.

3) The lack of tattered clothes.

I agree!
