Hell, we won't even be recognizable as humans by then, with billions of years of evolution behind us.

Evolution doesn't require the extinction of the parent species. Maybe we could have TWO warring species!

Most species don't even stay dominant for as long as we have.

Most species aren't capable of space travel.

Yeah, in terms of gas and oil, it finally is. And that's what it took to start getting people to change.

Years were spent telling people that burning fossil fuels were bad for the environment, causing global warming, causing tons of health problems, and slowly (or quickly) killing off our ability to survive.

Pretty much nothing happens.


Gas hits $4 a gallon, and everyone explodes in an uproar and is demanding clean, renewable energy.

Agreed. At least the people from the ages of 0-40 can take confort in the fact a bunch of old a**holes, who are probably dead now, signed our death certificates.
