Does anyone use Midtown Comics for monthly subscriptions?

Why do you have to subscribe to 10 titles to activate a subscription? I just want one title...

Because it wouldn't be cost effective for them.

You could try Heavyink, but I'll still be pretty expensive because you only want one.

Your best bet would actually be DC or Marvel's subscription services. They'll come a few weeks late, but you'll save a ton off the cover price. And you don't have to pay for shipping like at Midtown or Heavyink.

You could go digital as well. Then you wouldn't have to wait for it to be delivered to you.

Yeah, I tried Marvel subscriptions but you can't order Fantastic Four on their site anymore... :csad:

Yeah, Marvel's subscription service is kinda dumb.

DC has a lot more main titles available from their service.

When are titles available when using the digital service? I heard Marvel puts them out around 1-2pm on the release days, can anybody clarify?

I know DC puts there's up at 2PM.

I thought Marvel was a little earlier...like 9 or 10AM, but I could be wrong. I'm at work on Wednesdays, so I don't really have time to check until like 3. :o

I read an article recently that said Marvel found the leak that was causing their digital stuff to hit the internet hours before they normally release it. The story didn't go into specifics but it sounded like they caught the employee doing it and fired him/her. Marvel only simply said they found the issue and took care of it.

I was just wondering because they might as well make their stuff available at midnight as an added incentive to sign up for the digital subscription.

I will say, I buy all of my DC and Image books a month behind so I can get the discount (btw, Marvel is a piece of **** for not doing the month-old price drop thing too), and it is cool to get my comics at midnight on Tuesday.

Marvel's gonna wake up someday but not anytime coming up. Somebody had mentioned that AvX is already going to a second printing. If that's true and they reclaim the top 10 the month AvX kicks off, they won't consider changing their business model anytime soon....

I know.

****ing *******s. :o

Where's the best place to subscribe to? The place I'm currently getting them from takes forever to send them to me

I'd say HeavyInk.

I liked HeavyInk when I was subscribed through that site too. I just recently canceled my subscriptions because I found another local shop that would order all the indy s*** I read, though.
