Got one of these going in the DC forum too. I've recently gotten back into comics and have read a huge collection of graphic novels and trade paperbacks but want to get back into the current game too. Not looking to get back to the old days and buy EVERYTHING, just want a few good ones. :hyper:

So....

Hypothetical scenario. You can only subscribe to 5 monthly/weekly Marvel titles. No restrictions on price, but you do need to keep in mind that a few titles sometimes have more continuity with other titles. You can pick by the current writer/artist but you also have to keep in mind the history of that title and the chance that another great writer/artists may soon join or depart its ranks.

Which 5 titles do you pick?

X-Factor
Captain America
Daredevil
Nova
She-Hulk

In no order:

1. Amazing Spider-Man - I've got to have at least one Spidey book, and Ron Garney was born to draw the character.
2. The Immortal Iron Fist - Best new series from Marvel in years. Great character, great story, great art.
3. Daredevil - Love the character, Marvel's most consistently great read.
4. The Irredeemable Ant-Man - I'm a Kirkman ****e.
5. Captain America - Brubaker's done wonders for this book, and I'm onboard for as long as he and Epting are.

And because Ron Garney is leaving the title (as is JMS), I get to pick a sixth. :p

6. Avengers: The Initiative - Dan Slott's off to a good start, and I like Caselli's art. Plus it's got Hank Pym and War Machine.

In order to be consistent: I don't even read 5 Marvel titles these days anymore.

Amazing Spider-Man
Sensational Spider-Man
New Avengers
Daredevil
Hulk

Astonishing X-Men
Mighty Avengers
Ultimates 2
Ultimate Spiderman
Runaways

no point in subing to ultimates 2 so skip that,I may have told you different a year ago though but with only one issue left its pointless.she-hulk yes, squadren supreme, mighty avengers, hulk(with planet hulk and stuff coming up) and the last I guess could be run aways until ya starts up again.

Astonishing X-Men
X-Factor
Runaways

And...that's it.

Nova
X-Factor
Avengers: Initiative
Iron Fist
Captain America

Amazing Spider-Man
Sensational Spider-Man
New Avengers
Daredevil
Hulk

So,.. What do you think of Captain Stacy in the Movie there Dude?

This one is a little louder than I read,.. and seems a lil weaker than I imagined,.. but he did pretty good in my opinion.
:yay:

GLA
Thunderbolts
New Avengers
The Black Panther
Amazing Spiderman

two years ago?

Squadron Supreme
GLA
Thunderbolts
Black Panther

See a trend yet?

X-Factor

Moon Knight- I hope he gets done rehabilitating and I wonder if he will start taking up his multiple personalities again, Cabbie driver Lockley, and Million Steve grant. I'm cool with him not doing it, but I think they are just focusing on Marc Spector and Moon Knight. Khonshu taking the appearance of a faceless Bushman is interesting in Marc's imagination. In the interview with the writer, he is suppose to be a past his prime athlete, but I think once he deals with this, he will be more on top of his game.

I want to get into Daredevil, but I want to start from scratch and work my way up to the current stuff. I figure Frank Miller's Daredevil: Man Without Fear is a good start.

1. Captain America - I can't wait to see where things go from here.

2. New X-Men - Until #25 of Cap, this was the most unpredictable book on the market.

3. Astonishing X-Men - Irregularly scheduled, but still good.

4. Uncanny X-Men

5. Runaways

Captain America
Daredevil
Immortal Iron Fist
Avengers Initiative
Incredible Hulk

New Avengers - One of my favorite team books
Mighty Avengers - Same as what i said for NA
Immortal Iron Fist - ****ing awesome ninja action, one of my favorite books right now
Avengers: Initiative Great new series, i'm loving it
Runaways Great book all around

New Avengers
Mighty Avengers
Avengers: Initiative
X-Factor
Cable / Deapool

Cable & Deadpool
Avengers: The Initiative
Mighty Avengers
Daredevil
Captain America

Captain America
Astonishing X Men
Avengers: The Initiative
Mighty Avengers
She Hulk

The Incredible Hulk: My favorite title.
Cable and Deadpool: Too fun to miss.
X-Factor: Best written book Marvel publishes.
New X-Men: My second favorite title.
New Avengers: Ever since "Civil War", the new artist, and the split into this and "Mighty", Bendis has magically transformed into a good writer, and this title, for the last few issues, has just been pure enjoyment.

Other considerations: Astonishing X-Men, Exiles, Immortal Iron Fist

And I left "The Ultimates" off because subscribing to it would be like eagerly anticipating the next time a certain kind of rare insect landed on a specific part of your window.

Daredevil
Iron Fist
Astonishing X-men
Hulk
Ulimates - does this count as half a book since it comes out twice a year :woot:

Immortal Iron Fist
Astonishing X-Men
Mighty Avengers
Cable and Deadpool
Exiles

I should really get into X-Factor and Daredevil though, shouldn't I? Don't know the cheapest place to get the trades...

Daredevil
Ultimate Spiderman
Mighty Avengers
Astonishing X-men
Ultimates

Runaways
X-Men
Avengers: The Initiative
New X-Men
New Avengers

imortal iron fist
captain america
marvel adventures spider-man
m.a. ff
m.a. iron man
