If you read the comics, and hate them, then they are worthless...

If you read the comics, and LOVE them, then they are priceless...

And THAT is the bottom line when it comes to "worth" in comics...

Hope this helps...

:yay:

Or, if you want a practical answer: There are books that can tell you the value of comics, depending on what condition your copies are in, and services that will actually rate your comics "officially" and sometimes seal them in protective cases. The only book I'm actually familiar with is the Overstreet Price Guide, which you can find on Amazon or any other bookseller website. Can't remember the names of any of those rating services, since I don't really bother with that myself.

Also, it might be worth talking to the owner/manager of any local comic shops in your area. My shop's owner will often refer to the price guides only roughly, take a look at the comics for himself, and negotiate directly with people.

I don't think either are worth that much honestly. SM 2099 #1 is going for $18 bucks on ebay/Amazon I think. And I'm sure you're referring to Adventures of Superman #500 which was a one issue story between Funeral for a Friend and Reign of the Supermen. MY guess is it's not really valuable. Superman #75 i think is only worth $100....and that's signed by Dan Jurgens.

I think the only recent comic with a huge value is Ult SM #1 white cover. Most valuable comics are the really, really old ones dating back to the 60's-70's.

I wonder if now in this day and age of comics available for download through torrents, Marvel.com and iPad is going to increase or decrease the value of some of these books. I'm gonna hold onto mine and wait and see until I'm an old man.

Sorry to be a downer, but you'd be lucky to get $1 for each. They are 90's comics and comics from that period generally sold en masse and are therefore relatively worthless.

I just checked on ebay to be safe, and sm 2099 #1 can be bought there for about a buck.

Sorry. Hope that info helps though.

Yeah... it's hard to find 5 comics since 1980 that are worth more than $500... and that excludes any rare (or limited release) variants...

# 75 even signed by Jurgens is not worth 100 bucks, I bought that awhile ago for 20.00 bucks

Now, if you were to hunt down every other copy of the book and destroy them all but one, you might get about 50 bucks for it.

Maybe if they release a proper animated or movie version of "The Death of Superman." My comic shop's owner was telling me yesterday that early issues of The Walking Dead are selling for pretty insane prices because of the TV show's imminent arrival.
