With the inevitable talk and comparisions everyday between Fox's next big superhero movie and Marvel Studios and Sony, I thought we could have its own thread, so fans and haters alike can discuss about all of them on here with more freedom :woot:

If you need a starting point, lets post our WW boxoffice bets for next year.

@kasjan where is the link of this?

There isn't any link to this, at the begin of October I just make copy of movie list from poll at main SHH. Next I add data with how many people want to see those movies at movie portal in my country. I updated it today, after I saw how it grow up for DOFP when people see first trailer. I'm really happy, 13 690 people wants to see DOFP now, it's even more than Sin City 2 -> 12 774.

Captain America The Winter Soldier- 500-700 Million.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2- 800-1 Billion.
Godzilla-300-500 Million.
X-Men: Days of Future Past- 550-750 Million
Maleficent- 350-500 Million.
Edge of Tomorrow- 350-500 Million.
How to Train Your Dragon 2- 400-600 Million.
Transformers: Age of Extinction- 800-1 Billion.
Fast and Furious 7- 700-850 Million.

I don't think I want to live in a world where The Rock/Vin Diesel/Paul Walker movie makes more than a Wolverine/Xavier/Magneto.

:(

Well, those movies are extremely popular amongst the GA. Transformers movies too.

A majority of film goers, critics and fans have dug the Fast franchise since 2011. They are actually really enjoyable action films. Don't see the problem with it being a success.

Yeah, even though I'm not a huge fan of those movies, they are fun.

Yeah say what you want about Diesel and the Rock but they are insanely likeable and charismatic. You combine them with great action, spectacle and fun and you have yourself the perfect formula for box office success.

And also, the FF franchise is probably the only one in Hollywood that places big emphasis on diversity. Many stars from different countries and races are represented. It gives them a very loyal following internationally and among minorities.

People rag on Transformers, but those movies make a crapton of money too.

I love them aside from the second one.

I should've walked out of the theatre for part 2!

I think Transformers has followed the same pattern as the Pirates of the Caribbean films. Really good first film that grossed big numbers, a second film that was hotly anticipated and grossed the biggest numbers of the series, but left a bad taste in audiences' mouths. The third film was another turd that came off a not so good second installment so it affected its box-office. T4 will likely continue the downward trend here in North America, but I'm sure it will be a monster overseas.

Guys, Transformers is so dope.

Age of Extinction will probably be 2014's biggest.

Antihero, Paul Walker is a great actor! He deserves all that money!

You'll neverrrrr see me comiiiiiiiiiiiiing.

I seriously doubt Fast 7 would earn more money than Fast 6. Especially with that 1 year gap and Fast/Furious is not even a sci-fi/fantasy film series.

Well Fast & Furious kinda cornered its own niche; I can't think of another major car racing series out there.

Could they maintain the same level of success if they are releasing a new movie every year? I don't think they can. And a 2 to 3 years break is usually given to franchises to avoid audience fatigue.
