Dr. Gordon Returns to Saw 7

So why people are complaining about the lack of Jigsaw is beyond me.

..Because all of the films revolve around Jigsaw, and this was supposed to be the final one, thus implying some sort of big reveal that the other films have been leading up to?

Tobin, Costas, Kevin, and Patrick all confirmed that Jigsaw wouldn't have much screen time in this film. It wasn't a big secret so people shouldn't be surprised or complaining honestly.

This isn't like some Cyclops situation where the director, actors, and the writers said he would have a huge role in X3 and wouldn't be forgotten about. The creators behind Saw flat out said that he wouldn't be in it much, although, he is very important to the plot and he is.

He showed up in a flashback that led to Bobby's test and showed up in a flash back at the end.

Now that I think about the ending again, its only more fitting that
the two people assisting Gordon were the two guys from the public trap to tie things in!
:woot:

That was my assumption and my girlfriend thought the same thing

why wouldnt you guys think it was one of the other jigsaw survivors that was at the meeting Gordon regularly attends?

I don't think anyone knows who exactly the helpers were just that they were Jigsaw survivors...

I think because of the way the two guys acted at the beginning, they seem like they would be less damaged than someone who attends the meetings regularly. You could argue he would need someone that's been around longer but it's all guessing.

Does anyone know who all the survivors in that room were. It seemed kind of strange they created a survivor just for that scene , they should of used someone from a previous film . it would of been interesting to have Det Matthew's son.

The woman from Saw VI who cut off her arm was there. So were the two survivors from Saw V.

I have a problem with that public trap in the beginning. It's just that it was too easy. The two guys gave up the girl that was cheating on them. A greater test would have been for them to forgive her.

Also it was way too soon. The one guy was injured and they'd need time to reflect from the experience and show they were trust worthy. So I don't think it was them.

They could of bonded after the whole experience , so I was picturing them sticking together in a weird way but yeah there is a slew of possibilities .
The one thing that definitely goes against them is that time frame .

I did recognize some of them , I tried viewing this to spot more , also noticing one of the guys from the public trap was there

I hated that the public trap didn't tie into the plot like all the other opening sequences traps from previous films did. By doing the reveal, it would fix this.

I tend to agree with this. I don't know if its the fact it didn't tie into the plot or just for what it was? The scene had no flow to me and the xtra gore wasn't helping as it looked kindof cheaply done(comparing it to the Seth Baxtor scene which was similar execution).
I think it felt out of place compared to all the other opening traps,it may of been because it was in daylight instead of some darkened room???

You know, I think I would've replaced the Gibson and added Fisk as the person who was trying to track down Hoffman.

I don't know why everybody is obsessed with Fisk. Even though it would have made more sense.

I have yet to see this movie yet. And I will not see it in the theater.

No one is obsessed with Fisk. It would've made sense to bring him into the equation as he actually had a personal history with Hoffman. Introducing a new character in Gibson only to kill him off made little to no sense.

The fact that Fisk wasn't mentioned, neither were the deaths of Perez, Erickson, or the mention of Strahm shows that they were rushing this film and only used it for the appeal of 3D. Don't get me wrong, I love the film and I really did enjoy it. However there were and are aspects of it that left me scratching my head.

Like I said, for every trap or gore scene they could've devoted some backstory to Hoffman and why did Internal Affairs believe Jill so quickly.

In her own sick way she had a hand in Strahm's death when she planted the idea into Erickson's head that Strahm was insane and was after her.

Yeah, its weird how handled the Fisk character. I thought he was going to be another minor character that would get a bigger role as the sequels came by, but he just disappeared.

Whos Fisk again?

The Asian cop.

Looks like the response to this movie is disgusting. I knew it would end like this. When they announced 3D, I knew it would be a bomb. They should have ended with VI.

You should see it for yourself. If you're a Saw fan you should know Saw was and will never be a critically acclaimed film. The fact that you are letting reviews make up your mind for you is disgusting.

As for it being a bomb? Who cares? It's the last film anyways and it was competing against Megamind and a Tyler Perry film. I could careless what reviews say I enjoyed it even though it's flawed.

I had forgotten all about Fisk . He probably quit the force once he realized what happens to anyone involved with the jigsaw case.

Yeah, but I bet the producers made this movie terrible just so they could end it. I know SAW was never critically acclaimed, but it was good! And this movie, 3D, is just traps, traps, traps. SAW was never about that. I've heard this movie doesn't make the least bit of sense. And I will not waste 15 bucks to see something I loved be put to shame.

Yeah, it totally makes sense for the producers of this franchise to intentionally make a bad film just so it wouldn't be successful. :whatever:

Is that why fans are starting an online petition for a Saw 8? Costas wanting a Saw 8? Whether this film was amazing or not, it would've experienced similar results since it was competing against Megamind, For Colored Girls, and of course this week it'll be Unstoppable and Skyline, and next week it's Harry Potter.

So it didn't matter if this film was the greatest thing ever, it most likely wouldn't be hugely successful due to the competition.

Like I said, you should see it for yourself and stop believing the reviews or assuming the worst. I enjoyed it for what it was and I assume the DVD will be the usual extended unrated directors cut too.

I went ahead and saw it...

Some of the acting was atrocious, especially from the lead cop guy.

I also am at a complete loss as to why Dr Gordon made some of the decisions he made over the past 6 films. What was his motivation besides "hey, let's make him an important character"?

The tone didn't seem to fit the rest of the series either...seemed more like a slasher film style. I'm not sure that I really got the point of the Bobby character either, aside from giving us a reason to see a bunch of traps. Eh, it was what it was...I wasn't a huge fan of the series anyway.
