DRINKING GAMES! (Post yours here)

Im sorry, anyone sitting around a table playing D&D is just as bad if not worse than someone sitting at a comp playing WoW.

Spoken like a person who's never played D&D, and thinks that WoW is infinately superior because it's on a computer. If a massive computer virus were to whipe out every computer device on the planet, or an EPM from outer space were to destroy every piece of technology on the planet, I will still be able to get together with my friends for a good game of D&D while you'll be sitting and staring at your $4000 paperweight, wishing you can boot it back up.

If all our technology was suddenly rendered unusable, I think I would have more pertitent things to do than play D&D.

There's not a thing in the world wrong with liking and playing either D&D or WOW, as long as you don't take it too seriously and/or let yourself get consumed by it.

Well personally, i don't play WoW, or any games on the computer for that matter, what i was getting at is its is far less hazardous to your social health to admit you play video games than to admit you play D&D. Hell does anyone even play D&D anymore? I thought that garbage died out in the 70's.

A) It started in the 70's, very first publication of the rule books was in 1974.

B) It's not garbage.

C) If it had died out in the 70's, or the 80's for that matter, they wouldn't be up to 4th edition right now.

D) If it had died out in the 70's or 80's we wouldn't have an entire thread about casting a Drizzt Do'Urden movie in the Misc. Movies Forum.

E) People might not think less of you for playing video/computer games while they do tend to look down on people who play D&D (or any other RPG for that matter), which is a prejudice I've had to endure many times. But if you tell other D&D players that you play D&D, they'll say "Cool, maybe we can play together some time." But with about 95% of todays computer/video games being single player games, if you tell a fellow vidiot that you play video/computer games best you can hope for is "Cool, so do I."

CHECKERS

What You Need:

A checker board.

A number of shot glasses to equal the number of checkers that come with a checker board.

A bottle of dark rum or other type of dark hard alcohol.

A bottle of vodka, white rum, or some other type of clear hard alcohol.

THE RULES

1) Set up the shot glasses on the checker board as though they were checkers.

2) Fill the glasses on one side of the board with dark rum, the other side with white rum.

3) Begin playing checkers. Every time you take your opponents piece you have to down the shot.

Note: If you want to get really s#!tfaced you can use Bacardi 151.

One strategy is to sacrifice several pieces early to get your opponent too tipsy to think clearly. Then when he's too drunk to play well you start taking all his pieces.

CHESS

What You Need:

A chess board

Several shot glasses of various sizes.

A bottle of dark rum or similar alcohol.

A bottle of white rum, vodka, or other clear alcohol.

HOW TO PLAY:

1) Set up the glasses on the chess board as though they're chess pieces. The more a piece can move, the larger the glass you use. 1 ounce glasses are pawns, 2 ounce glasses are knights, 3 ounce glasses are rooks, 4 ounce glasses are bishops, 5 ounce glasses are queens, 6 ounce glasses for kings.

2) Fill the glasses with alcohol, clear on one side, dark on the other.

3) Play chess. Every time you take a piece, you drink it.

Note: One strategy is to sacrifice your queen early to get your opponent drunk so he won't play as competently.

You can actually buy sets of glasses with pictures of the game pieces on the sides which helps keep track of which glass is which piece.

"Ren and Stimpy"
----------------

Although the buzz factor is only low-mid, you'll still have a damn
good time playing this one. Either acquire a tape of previous "Ren and
Stimpy" episodes or tune in whenever it airs on Nickelodeon. Bring some
beer, too.
Consume some beer whenever one of the following happens.
1 - anyone says 'man'
2 - bodily function (like fart)
3 - eyes bug out
4 - first time a *new* species is shown
5 - gratuitous violence
6 - unusual background (art)
7 - anytime 'log' is said or sung.
add to as necessary.

Evil episodes that I suggest you don't play the game to. *- Later episodes after '96 such as Black Wolf, Warrior... Princess, and especially The Royal Couple Of Thieves. ** - The Prodigal... the entire city of Poteidaia are the you suck people. (You suck people are the group or single "peasant" that attacks a warrior and continues to kick, punch, or mame their opponent repeatedly. We usually scream out "You suck... you suck you suck!" along with each strike they make) *** - In The Apple, Aphrodite can get you drunk just on this one alone, be very warned! This will continue to be updated as the series progress and new things pop up in all of our own minds.

  • David Caruso delivers a ridiculously dramatic line, most often directly before the theme song
  • Any known cliche is quoted or misquoted by any character

  • Anytime the camera zooms inside someone's body
  • Any completely ridiculous use of technology aka "air DNA", unrealistic GPS use, etc.
  • David Caruso is overly paternal to a victim (extra drink if he calls them "son")
  • A CSI agent has knowledge that is key and coincidental yet, out of their believable realm of knowledge. i.e knowing from a shoe imprint that the shoe is no longer in production- or how to speak Chinese-or where some mud is from based upon a photograph etc:
  • Horatio is referred to as "H"
  • Anyone completely admits to a crime after less than 3 questions from a CSI. (bonus drink for being without a lawyer)

[edit]
Chug an entire drink when

  • Horatio is able to deliver a complete line with his head entirely upright
  • Whenever there is a montage of forensic science set to music with no dialogue
  • Team member is suspect in case.
  • A main character dies. (That means someone featured in the opening credits of the show.)
