DTL Season 4-Week 3 (Set 3)

The rules:
This is one of four threads, each containing two match ups.
The threads will be in use for 6 days.
Days 1-4 (Thursday-Sunday) are strictly setup time for owners to plead their cases, tell us their team’s strategies, breakdown the match ups, and do whatever else they can/want to do to try and convince you that their team would pull out a victory. Please, let the owners do this on their own with no help from you, the fan.

When Day 5 (Monday) rolls around, I’ll post and tell everyone that voting may begin. Only after doing so will voting start. Any votes cast before I open voting will not count.
To vote, look over the matchups and read the owners strategies and take them into consideration. Afterwards, use your best judgment to decide who you think has the best chance to win the match up and post up the teams you think will prevail.
(Note: The length of a writeup is up to the owner. Do not punish owners just for having a shorter writeup.)

To vote, give each writeup a score out of 10, with the team you feel winning the match earning the higher score. No tie votes are allowed, one team must get a higher score, even if only by a single vote.

Remember, to vote for each match up or your vote will not count!

The teams with the highest vote total at the end of the 6th day (Tuesday) will get a W while the other will get an L.

The battleground for this week is: Wayne Manor and the surrounding grounds.

I don't have time for a full blown write-up, but I'm going to do a few paragraphs at least...

As for information, they would know nothing about Brainiac 417 and Boy Blue as none of their characters have ever met them (and they would not be in any data base they could access). It could be debated whether or not Wonder Woman has heard of Savitar, but I assume she's at least heard of him from Wally.

As for my team, the only unknown to them would be Nemesis, since she's from a different reality. Gambit and Deadpool are known by Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman is well known. Janie Warlock's background would be discerned through the Orb of Eternity.
My team would be outfitted with stealth tech from the 853rd century (save for Blue since he doesn't need it), as well as be outfitted with communication devices by Brainiac 417.

As for the fights...

Janie is the new Warlock, but, other than the experience edge, Adam has one more advantage over her. The Soul Gem. He'd be able to match her skill for skill, and set her up for a karmic blast (one of the most potent attacks in comics). One karmic blast and she's out; no character has ever withstood Adam's karmic blast save Thor. And he barely made it due to his "Royal Asgardian Spirit". One blast from the Soul Gem and she's done. Even on the slight chance that the KB fails, Adam could always suck her soul into the gem and end the fight that way.

Savitar is more than a match for Wonder Woman. He's a true master of the Speed Force, able to do things that Wally could only dream about. He is able to create null fields around him, so that lasso trick Diana pulled on Zoom would not fly. He'd simply stop the lasso's motion and send it right back at her. Wonder Woman would have a near impossible time of even touching him, especially when he can easily steal her speed and make her even slower than she already is, compared to him. There are many ways he could take her out, however. For example, he could accelerate her heart and make it explode, he could could phase through her causing her to explode or simply extract a major organ (such as the brain), or he could simply just run her through (after stealing her speed she'd be too slow to stop it). Or he could even infinite mass punch her into orbit.
Really, with his supreme knowledge of all things speed and his abilities with the Speed Force, Wonder Woman is outclassed.

Brainiac 417 would take on Nemesis. Her sword may be able to cut through anything, but Brainiac is naturally intangible so it would not effect him. The M'Onelves that he can release (flea-sized Daxamites) would be extremely difficult for her to hit, and would be able to knock her for a loop. If she gets her shield up, however, I think it would keep them out. Still, given the more advanced tech at Brainy's disposal, it would only be a matter of time before he analyzes it and is able to counter it. If the M'Onelves fail to take her down, Brainy could still trap her in the timestream if need be, or could use tech from his time period to take her out (his genius outclasses anyone on this battlefield, from both teams, so I doubt it'd be difficult for him to come up with some device in preptime that he could use).

Little Boy Blue would go after Gambit. This is the suped up version of Gambit, able to charge up anything with a look. But, he won't be able to charge what he can't see. The Witching Cloak that Blue wears allows him to turn invisible, and, with Blue being unknown to them, Gambit would have no idea how to counter the magic and locate him. If Gambit hears Blue coming, he could always try blowing something up in the area of the noise. But, Blue can also teleport, so he'd be able to get away in time before the blast occurs. Eventually, Blue would get close enough to Gambit, and then it's SNICKER-SNACK! Gambit could have shields up to stop attacks, but the Vorpal Sword would slice right through them (it can cut through anything). Gambit would lose his head, and Blue would move on to help his teammates if need be.

This leaves Deadpool and Spider-Man. This would be a joke-filled fight between two of comics biggest smartasses. Both are experienced fighters, and have different things going for them. Spider-Man has Wade beat in terms of agility, speed, and strength. Not to mention his spider-sense, which is even more acute now after The Other. He is also able to now see in pitch blackness, and has two poisonous stingers that can protrude from his arms. Deadpool's unconventional fighting style and insane healing factor would make it difficult for Spidey though. I see this fight going on for a while until one of Spidey's teammates is able to come lend a hand (whether it be a karmic blast, IMP into orbit, lopping off Deadpool's head, or being knocked around by M'Onelves). Eventually though, Wade would be out numbered and would soon fall.

I can possible see a couple of my guys get taken down (no battle goes exactly as expected), but, in the end, I don't see my team losing this one. Especially with two unknowns and them having no answer to one of the top two speedsters in this thing.

If I could find a pic of him in his new costume that actually looked good, I would use it. Sadly, all the ones I've found thus far are crap.

And I doubt I'll have anything up until tuesday sometime.

“We can build this life together. And if this world runs out of lovers, We'll still have each other. Nothing's gonna stop us. Ah rubber ducky, isn’t the 80’s music just a great affirmation of human creativity?”
My ducky agrees by bobbing her head enthusiastically. Yes, here I am, enjoying my bi-annual bath. Bubbles, scented candles and my rubber ducky. Yup, I’m spoiling myself. Out of nowhere, the Keeper appears, standing on the sink, with her legs crossed.
“AHHHH! Get out of here you peeping tom… person!” I say throwing my brush at her.
The brush stops in mid air and then jets back towards me, nearly hitting me in the face, but I dodge it.
“Can’t a merc have a little privacy, you voyeuristic venomous vamp!?”
“Deadpool, have you been playing with the Thesaurus again?”
“Only when I watch The OC.”
“Anyway, this discussion may be fascinating, but it’s time to prepare for this week’s match.”
“It is? Well, let me at least get dressed…”
She claps her hands and 4 people land in my bathtub, huddled together.
“Buh bye kiddies. You’ll find the names of your opponents written on the mirror.”
She disappears and leaves behind a bunch of angry, cursing people.
“Alright everybody. Gambit, you go outside and shoot yourself. Ladies, how about you take off those clothes and make yourselves more comfortable” I say grinning.
My only replies are angry looks as they all exit the bathtub, none to gently I might add. Anyway, it’s their loss.
“Hey! Which one of you tarly-gaited varlots stole my rubber ducky!?” I shout behind them after noticing my missing minion.

15 minutes later
“So, I don’t need the islands’ files to tell me that Iron Spidey is a huge wuss. I can take care of him easy.”
“According to this, Jaine points out, he’s recently had some enhancements.”
“I don’t care, a leopard doesn’t change his stripes.”
“That’s spots, you idiot” Gambit corrects.
“Why would a bunch of spots want to change their stripes? Moron.”
“Merde ! Tu es le plus grande idiot que j’ai racontrai dans m’entiere vie. «
« Uh, sorry, I didn’t get that. I don’t speak loser. »
« Enough ! Wonder Woman shouts. We have a very difficult fight ahead of us. Savitar alone is enough of a threat for this entire team. «
« Maybe I can create some kind of bio-kinetic cascade, charge up the air around him. » Gambit suggests.
« What about Adam Warlock ? » Nemesis asks.
« Janie is the only person with enough power to attempt to deafeat him »
« Diana, no... I don’t want to. »
« I don’t see any other way. »
« I will deal with Savitar. Trap him in a force field. Read his mind. There are ways. I don’t wish to fight Adam. He has given me so much. »
Wonder Woman sighs and then looks us over.
« Fine. Janie will confront Savitar. I will deal with Adam Warlock. Deadpool is tagged with me, and Gambit and Nemesis must fight Little Boy Blue and Brainiac 417. I know nothing of them, but Brainiac is the name of a very powerful Superman foe. I assume this Brainiac is an advanced form of this machine, perhaps with more tricks up his sleeve. «
« We got tricks to, ma cherie » Gambit drawles.
« Yeah. Don’t count us out just yet, fearless leader » Nemesis back him up.
«Fortunately for us, I also happen to know the terrain resonably well. We can form a plan of attack. «
« Where are we going ? » I ask.
« Batman’s mansion. »
“Oh. Batman. He must have some good porn. You happen to know where he hides it?”

Battle

Janie Warlock POV

“Hello Janie”
The Keeper has delivered us to our location. Before I could act, before the teams even acknowledged each other Adam contact me telepathically, just to talk, he said.
“Hello Adam” I reply. He isn’t angry or sad.
“Don’t worry. This is going to end very quickly.”
“Not as quickly as you think” I add bitterly. He still has the same calming effect on me. Wonder Woman didn’t understand. Fighting Adam would be like fighting my own father. It is something I am not ready for.
“I have to go now.”
“Good Luck, Janie”
“I’m a Warlock. I make my own luck” I say before returning to the physical world. On my way down I think I hear him say: Finally. She’s learning.

Following Wonder Woman’s queue I teleport every living thing in front of me, sending them to their specific destinations within the mansion. Spiderman will soon be joining Deadpool in the living, and Little Boy Blue and Brainiac are sent within the batcave, where Gambit and Nemesis are waiting. I’m taking Savitar with me to the grounds behind the mansion. Diana and Adam are left behind. I will keep a telepathic link with all my teammates. But now, I have to focus on Savitar. He already is in motion, and pounded into me, sending me flying. Before I can raise my force field, he pins my feet to the ground and throws a barrel of punches in my face. I generate an explosion of energy that pushes him away, sending him into the air. I have to keep him there so I try to hold him with my telekinesis. What little injuries the explosion had caused, instantly vanished. Diana warned me he can heal very fast.
I have him now, but I don’t know how much longer I can keep him.

Deadpool POV

“I have dreamed of killing you every night since saw the first Spiderman movie. Something about Tobey Maguire brings out the killing instincts in me. I’ve done it a thousand time, in a thousand different ways. Cool as ice or giggling like a school girl. I have bathed in your blood and used your squishy brain matter to clean my toilettes. After years of bloody fantasizing it has finally come to this. Now tell me! Do you have any eights?”
“Go fish.” He casually replies.
“FRIK ON A STCIK!”
“You know, I’m not the best person to play go fish with, not that I’m complaining mind you, but my spider sense pretty much makes me a go fish aficionado.”
“Ah, yes, your spider sense. That’s one neat little thing about you. I’ve always been curios. How does it work?”
“Why do you want to know?”
“Oh, I just want to be sure that I made the right decision but choosing to not fight you and challenge you to a go fish tournament instead.”
“Hm. If you must know, it acts like a personal radar. I can’t even properly explain it myself”
“So it’s not seeing the future per se.”
“No, it’s more of a subconscious analysis of the medium around me, focusing on things that can potentially be dangerous.”
“So, if there was a bomb in this room, your spider sense would tingle instantly”
“Yeah… but it hasn’t. So there isn’t.”
“What if… for example. I had this crazy idea, to keep a bomb in another place entirely, far from here, set up a timer and rig my teleporter to it, to port it here when it reached the detonation point. Would your spider sense, I don’t know, warn you about that?”
The bomb appears with a slight fizzle on the table and instantly goes off.
You don’t get it Spidey. I never intended to win.

Nemesis POV
The explosion startles us.
“Dat idiot Deadpool, can’t believe he did dat” Gambit mutters.
“Don’t worry. I bet his healing factor will keep him alive long enough for Warlock to heal the rest of his injuries.” I assure him.
“Well, what about us?”
Suddenly I feel a conciousness in the cave with is. There is definitely somebody here, in stealth, and another… mind. Not anything human anyway. Gambit has some latent empathic abilities. Without using words I transmit the feeling of being watched to him. He understands and pulls me close These little bastards we’re trying to sneak up on us. My force field goes all around us as the air starts to burn, charged up with bio kinetic energy. Outside my force fields explosion shake the cave walls. Gambit charges everything in site, computers, the weird black cars, even the giant penny. Thrown around by the explosions our opponents appear. One of them is a green, energy being wearing a force field belt. Around him there are three bug sized things, their small bodies laying on the ground. They must’ve been caught in the explosion. The guy must be Brainiac. Gambit only looks at hus belt and it charges up, going kaboom. The other guy is…
Is just a kid with a blue cloak. He comes at me attacking but I dodge, I do a cartwheel backwards and leave behind a genetic concussion grenade. The cloak may protect him from physical attacks, but the grenades act on a cellular level. The kid’s body is tearing itself a part. It’s a shame. He was a cute kid too. Brainiac also starts screaming in pain, although we’re not currently doing anything to him. He must’ve shared some kind of telepathic link. The shock knocks Brainiac out.
“Dat was a lot easier then I thought” Gambit says panting.
“Yeah, well I didn’t get to be 5000 years old by getting to comfortable to quickly.”
“5000 years? You look good for your age” he says smirking.

Janie Warlock POV

He's moving so fast... don't know how much longer I can hold him. So far he's granted speed to everything around me. I can barely shield myself. His metabolism must be working in voer drive.. Let's see what happens if I create an invisible force field around his head... With a little luck he'll suffocate in mere seconds, before I get even weaker...

Nemesis POV
We're greeted with a terrible sight as soon as we get outside. Wonder WOman's body slams into the ground. She seems nearly defeated. Gambit lunges forward to keep the god busy while I tend to Diana. She can barely stand up. I call to Janie telepathically as we need her healing powers but she doesn't reply.
"She must be busy with that Savitar guy." I mutter.
"Nevermind. I feel well enough. Listen. I have a plan..."
Gambit got knocked aside by one of Adam Warlock's karmic blasts. Atfer that the god found himself alone, standing over a crevice. I know he senses us, but it doesn't matter now. A swarm of bats envelop him, . My Pegasus was parked in the batcave, I activated it by remote and sufficte to say, it generated some ruckus amid the bat colony. So now the little critters came to our aid, temporarily distracting Warlock's attention. Diana uses the last of her energy to fly up behind him and rope his hands together behind his back with her lasso. She brings him down and I lunge forward with my sword stabbing him in the chest. Only I miscalculate... I also injure Wonder Woman...
