DuckTales 2017

Ugh. It going to Disney+ is a bummer, but only because I don't have it or any streaming service. Then again, there are ways around that...

Hopefully there's an indication or confirmation whether this is an all new take or continuation of the Darkwing Duck we've currently got on Ducktales.

That is terrible. How can it not have better ratings? Do people just not know it exists?

This is ridiculous they still have a bunch of stories to tell.

Bugger. Really enjoyed the Santa episode this week too.

Now they really have to make the animated version of The Life & Times Of Scrooge either as movies or animated mini series. Put it on Disney+.

I have hopes, that it’ll have a revival at Disney plus

Well that cements it.

I can see ratings being a reason. For a kids' show, I can't imagine the move from Saturday mornings to Monday nights did it any favors, even though I always look forward to the show each week.

It's unfortunate, because this new take on Ducktales has so much heart not just with its storytelling, but how much it honors the past, not just with past Ducktales, but Disney lore as a whole. Though it's unlikely, I do wish that Darkwing Duck planned reboot was based on this version, if just to see the Ducktales world continue.

At least they are ready to give it a proper ending. No ridiculous cliffhangers, no unresolved threads, not just business as usual, see you next season, only you won't. That is at least something.

This sucks

I really liked the new Ducktales. Wish they’d just continue it on Disney+

Frank Angones pitched an idea of Chip & Dale in an universe with Basil and the Mouse Police a few years ago. Maybe they’ll try to push that forward

Would be cool to see all the Disney Afternoon series get a reboot. They are still very popular and get lots of love among the fans.

Gargoyles is another I would love to see come back

Honestly, there have been enough nods to past Disney lore that yeah, Disney XD could effectively have an updated take on the Disney Afternoon built out of the Ducktales world. Those acknowledgements to shows like Bonkers or Chip 'n Dale or Goof Troop and especially Darkwing Duck wouldn't have to just be winks and nods.

Then again, I'm not even sure who this Ducktales connects with more: kids of today's generation, or those of us who grew up with the original. Since I'm guessing Disney XD would probably hope to cater to those who contributed most to the ratings.

They had a good run, though they'd be more at home on D+

I think 4 seasons and almost 100 episodes would been enough for me.

Sad to see it end since it was a great show, but I'd rather it end early then drag on forever and start stinking like spoiled milk.

Also it sounds like they are going to give it a big sendoff. Some shows never even get that and just end abruptly.

Even Gravity Falls technically only had two seasons and just 40 episodes.

More than missing Ducktales, I'll miss this incarnation of Darkwing Duck. There's still no telling if the Seth Rogen Disney+ Darkwing Duck will be its own thing or this version. Still, they perfectly set it up here and it's unfortunate that we won't get to also see more of this take on Darkwing Duck.
