Wow Awesome work all round here, Jay
Good to see you also doing custom designed figures like I've been doing for a while

I actually started work on your Grimmborg as you requested
and I'll be posting a pic of it up soon, man
But Man youre just as good - if even beter than I am ( I cant paint diddly with poor sight)
I am really impressed with the Giantman Conversion to Black Goliath
and also your Astonishing Xmen Beast above

In the meantime if you want to check out anymore of my customs - I got some up on my deadeye Samurai Thread
I'd be flattered if you dropped by and had a look

I LOVE these ones you did - so clean lines - lol, i'm envious
Whats the white stuff you use on the models prior to painting?
Aves? Or Sculpey?

Hey Dedi,
Yeah, that's Aves Fixit Sculpt. And thanks for looking, I'll definitely be checking yours out.

Just did a kind-of mock-up of a cover...basically, just adding the title, but...

So, I've been busy working on my comic for the last little while. It's hard and frustrating sometimes...and it's almost always excruciatingly slow.

Anyways, I thought I'd post some pencils here...obviously they'll still need to be inked and coloured (which I'm hoping will make them look a whole lot better) but you get the idea.

Your drawings are spectacular. Fav's Big Bertha- you can actually FEEL the volume. My best congrats
A bit of "constructive criticism": I feel that drawings are quite shy. Like if you were unsecure when drawing (too careful, that's what I mean) and you've been rubbing off many times...

Even so... could you do me a Movie Beast please? In suit and X-Suit? :D

Oh and btw, many of the marvel "stands" remind me of X-Men Evolution

the pic of the smashing cabin of the air plane is simply amazing! this is great great work!

That's a pretty astute observation, actually. I think I do tend to lean more towards the conservative side when drawing. My "style" has never been described as bombastic. It's definitely something that I think I need to and would like to push further. Everything is very much a work-in-progress.

As far as the Marvel drawings go, they are intentionally mimicking the X-Men:Evolution style and, as well, they are a take-off of the work being done by a poster who goes by the name Ronnie Thunderbolts over on Superbuddies.net.

Again, for anyone who hasn't done so, and likes the look of the animated style of these characters, check out his thread. It's not hard to find because he updates very regularly and he's covering so much ground in regards to Marvel characters. You won't be disappointed.

And, the chances of me doing a movie Beast anytime soon are slim-to-none. When I draw, I try to draw the comic. Sorry.

blksuperman2- Thanks very much. I really appreciate the comment on the storytelling...it's something that I'm definitely wrestling with as far as making sure I am telling a story with the pictures.

Mattchew- Thank you, as well. That drawing was actually the first I conceived in my head (of this story) and one of the first that made it to paper. I realize there's still room for improvement but the comments help...they are encouraging. By the way, I'm a big fan of your costume thread and if I didn't comment there, let me say (again, maybe) that there's some great stuff going on there. I loved the He-Man and the Monster suit, at least what I've seen, looks great so far. Hopefully you're still working on that.

Whew. That post turned out a whole lot longer than I expected. Thanks for bearing with me, those who made it all the way through.

Incredible work reminds me of Geoff Darrow

Dude Im lovin the sequentials, theyre great! But Im confused-The plane crashed into the crowd and,he fainted?Or was it the explosion?Im not followin that.
Anyhow keep up the good work!Cant wait to see some inks there
Peace

Yeah...he's fainting because's he's caused the plane to crash into the people.

I do plan on redoing the first panel on that second last page...but there are some things that will clear themselves up when the words are there.

I've seen a couple of these, so I thought I'd start my own...
Hopefully I can post more stuff as I have time.

For now, here's a Spiderman skeleton I drew at school for my Anatomy class (I go to the Alberta College of Art & Design.)

BTW...this drawing is about 4 X 5 feet.

I'm late finding your thread, but everything is bada$$.

Thought I'd throw my entry for the Art Contest in here...Old West Cap.

great entry Duker Jay

and congrats on getting married soon!

Silver Sable, I did actually make this...well, I customized another figure to make this.

ComicChick04, thanks very much.

And, thanks for all the other kinds words, everyone else.

Even though I hate Cat-Beast, your work is very good, and I commend you on that.

Also, way to go get married. You're blurring the lines for comic geeks everywhere :P

Once again, pulling this thread from obscurity, I thought I'd post a little tidbit for those interested.
I'm still working on Holger Danske, ready to get back into it big-time after a full summer.
I did a little inking test to see if it will be feasible for me to ink it and all that with the dinky scanner I have here at home...I think it will work.
I also decided to play around with some dialogue and sound effects...since I'll have to do those at some point as well.

holgercolour2ke2.jpg

I'll probably put up a coloured one soon, too. By the way, if there's anyone out there who thinks they might be up for colouring a 36-page book, let me know. I thought I'd do it myself but I more interested in it looking as good as possible. It'd be a (modestly) paying job...

Let me know.

Always admired your work. The story telling and character design are off the meter

I'll put this up for anyone interested.
I started colouring the half-page...here's a WIP.
