This happened to my laptop and I think the spinner's just broken. Like it won't spin. But I'll try the program explode7 mentioned tomorrow and see if that works. But Matrixo, do other cds run in the drive? If not, the drive won't spin your cds

If you mean like movies I have then yes they do work along with games and such.
