I was hoping that this was going to look less, I don't know, cheap? I mean, the that might not be the word. The SFX look decent enough, and it has the look of a film where some dough was spent on the costumes and sets, but... Yeah, what I have seen so far, I'm not buying into it. To put it another way, I want a Hercules film that looks more like CONAN THE BARBARIAN and less like CONAN THE DESTROYER. One has a seamless production design and incredible locations. The other... Not so much.

I still think it'll be decent and am a huge rock fan but I rarely go to theaters now,IF I go see it then it'll be at the at the $1 movies a few months after release or just wait for it on netflix

I think its close enough to release to say this now...So I was able to catch a screening of this awhile back and I thought the movie was alright.

If you were to point out what's good about it, what would you say? Is it just a fine simple fantasy action piece? Campy fun?

I don't want to say too much until I know the embargo is lifted. But the movie is not as fantastical as the trailers make it out to be, its more standard action/adventure with bits of fantasy. Ian McShane is definitely one of the positives about the movie cause of what he keeps doing and is involved in what might be the funniest gag.

Yeah, maybe they're trying to hide the good stuff for when people actually go and see it but... the "epic battle" scenes they've shown in the trailers and the set pieces kinda look like stuff from that Kevin Sorbo Hercules show.

It still looks much more expensive (and it is) & epic then the Hercules Renny Harlin version that came out earlier this year.

By Zeus' beard!!!! Totally off the chain. Great mashup.

Here's the flipside.

I dont see how this movie makes more then $125 million domestically honestly. looks cheap and uninteresting at the same time. Unless it connects with audiences I just dont see it.

As much as I like Dwayne Johnson, I wouldn't mind if this bombed just so hopefully people would stop giving Brett Ratner money to make movies.

It just looks so bland and meh. Reminds me of a couple years ago when the conan reboot came out, it was like who cares.

Yeah, the "buzz" surrounding this movie seems very similar to that one.

I see an at best 30 million dollar opening unless marketing really picks up.

I'm looking forward to this & hoping it does well financially but I have to agree that it doesn't seem like the buzz for it is quite picking up the way it should.

He should boycott just cause the film looks bad more than anything.

:whatever:

His head keeps getting larger and it's always silly to ask others to boycott something because of your own ********. Sorry Alan, but your work as well as others isn't immaculate. I know Hollywood does screw up a lot of adaptations but he's become such a joke to me, and I'm not even all that excited for this movie either.

You should read why Alan Moore is upset about MGM's treatment of Steve Moore.
