That breastplate armour with the muscle sculpt they have him wearing in the images looks terrible.

Aside form it looking super cheap what's the point of having Dwayne devote so much to working out to have him wearing something that makes him look less impresive physically?

They should totally do a film based on the Iliad, but go all out on the myths, with the Gods fighting etc. I did like Troy but i've always wanted to see the Greek Gods go to war.

Yeah, same here. Removing the gods and turning a 12-year siege into a 12-day battle sucked some of the life out of the story. I would love to see a full epic Iliad film.

Thought it kinda felt like the poor man's version of 300.

I'd have to agree. I liked Cavill and Rourke in it but the story barely made any sense and the visuals weren't as great as everyone kept saying they would be. The battles were cool though.

Not only that; it looks like it's too small on him. The pec muscles on the breastplate are only half the size of his real ones, lol.

The film may not be exactly giving off Ridley Scott-intensity, but I honestly don't grasp the downer attitude I read here. So far, I see alot that is quintessential for a Hercules movie.

^ Agreed. It looks a fun & entertaining summer popcorn movie, which is what it's supposed to it. It's a new take on an old story & with all of the necessary elements.

Yeah, I would think the Rock with his charisma would garner interest but apparently now he's playing too straight.

It is the strangest armor. Now that people have pointed it out, I find it an inexplicable design choice.

Notice the image below. The pecs on the armor are ridiculously small for Rock. The abs on the armor are starting in the middle of his actuals pecs, so much so that the first 4 abs of the six pack on the armor are only covering his pecs. And the sixpack on the armor is ending way above his navel?

What kind of an armor is this? It is clearly 6 to 7 sizes too small for Rock. And like you say very unflattering of his real physique.

I can't wait for this movie to underperform and for all of social media to use that a strike against DC for hiring him. "I know his last string of films have been successful, but this one wasn't and DC just hired him! Look at your fail, DC, LOOK AT IT!!!!"

There's just something off about the production design, costumes, make up and sets from the little I've seen. I so wanted this thing to work, but the more I see, the worse it looks. This seems to all come down to one problem and that problem's name is Brett Ratner. In full color the hair and mak up The Rock has looks chintzy as hell in too many shots. That's something that is the responsibility of the Director to keep an eye on. The trailers and commercials alone give off the whiff of a director that cashed a check and just didn't give an airborne copulation. I'm actually going to see this in the theater to judge for myself, but... I feel like I'm throwing away money.

Well it's his fault for not choosing films that will be automatic successes, duh.

You know the internet so well.

Oh Sawyer stop telling the truth already.
You love it. :o

That really is hideous and completely baffling.

"Hey, we're gonna make you a chestplate, and the pecs on your chestplate will be roughly half the size of your actual pecs. Is that something you'd enjoy wearing?"

I still think the movie looks fun despite all the flaws.

I believe some people have brought up before that Dwayne Johnson didn't look quite right as Hercules. And for most of the first part of the movie I agree. Hard to really explain but whenever he spoke or did anything it just didn't feel quite right. Obviously he has the physique to play someone like Hercules but his demeanor never quite clicked. Near the latter half of the movie I think I got used to it and was able to buy into it.

Only Dwayne Johnson could be put into a muscle outfit that is actually smaller than his real muscles. It looks like that thing was designed for David Spade to wear tbh.

The breastplate cracks me up. Like, who's pecs are that tiny in comparison to the rest of the torso?

You love it. :o

Sawyer is pretty awesome.

As for this film, the only thing more pointless than a Brett Ratner film is a McG film. Honestly I don't even hate Ratner but he bores the hell out of me.

Looking Into Radical, Dave Elliott, Alan Moore, Steve Moore And Hercules
Rich Johnston said:
Earlier this week, Bleeding Cool Editor-in-Chief Hannah Means-Shannon interviewed Alan Moore, during which Moore expressed his extreme displeasure over the actions of Radical Studios regarding the Hercules movie staring The Rock. He alleged that they had mistreated his friend, Steve Moore, who had written the comic the movie is based upon, before his death, then lionised him afterwards to promote the movie.

This included finding a way not to pay the $15,000 lump sum earlier contracts had guaranteed Steve Moore would receive when the movie was made, and that having asked for his name to be taken off the film, Steve Moore’s name was used to promote the film after his death.

LOL, you are so right.

I wish Dwayne Johnson would address this.

Eh, sounds to me like Steve Moore needed a better lawyer.
